Discussion and Possible Action on:
1. Roll Call.
Present: Disher, Freckman, Glodosky, Alder Guthrie, Alder Keymer, McDonald,
Okonek, Alder Olson, Przybylski, Sorenson
Excused: Winn
Also Present: Director Kremer, John Jury, Randy Schukar, Steven McKay
2. Approval of June 3, 2026 meeting minutes
Motion to approve the minutes by Disher, second by Przybylski; motion carried 10 - 0
3. Consideration of single-day parking lot rental agreement for Zenoff Park with
the UWSP Career Advising Center for September 24, 2026.
Motion to approve the parking lot agreement as written by McDonald, second by
Sorenson; motion carried 9-0; Guthrie abstained.
4. Request to expand the Yulga Park disc golf course from 18 holes to 24 holes
by the Stevens Point Area Flying Disc Association.
Motion to approve the expansion of the Yulga Disc golf course from 18 holes to 24
made by Glodosky, second by Keymer; motion caried 10-0.
5. Approval of the pedestrian trail concept and preliminary cost estimate for
Mead Park.
Motion to approve the Mead Park trail concept by Guthrie, second by Keymer.
Motion to amend the original motion to include dark sky compliant lighting on the
concept plan made by Olson, seconded by McDonald, motion carried 7-3; Przybylski,
Guthrie, Disher voted no.
The original motion, as amended, carried 10-0.
6. Adoption of the Mead Park pedestrian trail project into the Stevens Point
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Departments Comprehensive Outdoor
Recreation Plan to allow for future grant eligibility.
Motion to adopt the Mead Park Plan concept into the Comprehensive Outdoor
Recreation Plan made by McDonald, second by Przybylski, motion carried 10-0.
7. Presentation and consideration of approval of Peters Family Park concept
and fundraising plan.
Motion to approve the concept and fundraising plans for Peters Family Park with the
addition of bike parking on the next draft made by Disher, second by Guthrie; motion
carried 10-0.
8. Review of ice rental rate at the KB Willett Arena and consideration of
increasing the hourly fee for 2027.
Motion to increase the KB Willett ice rental fee to $175 per hour on January 1, 2027
made by Disher, second by Przybylski; motion carried 10-0.
9. Director's Report
- Hailey Augustine hired as Recreation Division Park Technician; first day
was June 29.
- Zach Bertagnoli hired as the Forestry Division Park Technician; first day
was August 3.
- Grand opening ceremony for Plover River Crossing project is August 22,
2026
- Goerke press box project update
