MINUTES MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2026 TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF OCONTO 6120 CREAM CITY ROAD, OCONTO, WI 54153 1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 6:00 by Chairman Scanlan. Present: Clerk Scanlan, Supervisor Pansier, Supervisor Van Hulle, Treasurer Leonard, Others present see attendance sheet. 2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve. M /C 4. Approve minutes May 11, 2026, meeting with correction to item #15 (motion spelled incorrectly). Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle M/C 5. Treasurer’s report: General Checking: Treasurer reported a starting balance of $211,254.21 and May deposits of $746.65; June orders totaled $40,878.48 leaving an ending balance of $171,122.38. Tax account balance $0. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve treasurer’s report. M/C 6. No Wake request along Oconto River within town. Ordinance # 2026-06-08 was discussed. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve Slow/No Wake ordinance for town’s portion of Oconto River. M/C Clerk to advise interested residents of approval of ordinance. Sign to be ordered and posted at boat launch on River Road. 7. Approve Orders for payment: Clerk presented ACH for $1,259.84 for payroll taxes order #6903 through 6917 $40,848.48. Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve orders for payment. M/C 8. Correspondence Received The clerk completed 4 title search forms. Clerk completed Wisconsin Retail Liquor and Tobacco products license report (AT-827) online. Received from State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue: Notice of School Levy Tax Credit May 2026 payment $78,279.45 Notice of 2023 WI Act 12 Personal Property Aid May 2026 Distribution $141.89 Notice that property “Frog Pond Property LLC”, is no longer classified as manufacturing property for tax purposes. Tom Smith Inspections sent: Justin Frazer, 6607 Sprise Rd, Lena, 30 x 26 new detached accessory building Ben Thomson, 5498 Funk Road, 30 x 40 x 20 detached accessory building Office of Planning, Zoning and Solid Waste sent notice of approval of rezone from Ag to RR for Ortega/Parra. Oconto County sent notice of Ordinance 02026-04-04 zoning ordinance to ensure compatibility with current zoning practices. (See clerk to further detail) Wisconsin Election Commission sent correspondence to USPS regarding mailing delays/concerns for election mailing times. Page 2 9. Board of Commissioners Public Land Loan for Military Road project. Currently reviewing Right of Way purchase costs. Will continue to review monthly. 10. Comprehensive Planning Committee: No meeting 11. Approve liquor/beer licenses and operator’s licenses. Publication in Oconto County Reporter for required 2 weeks, all approved. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve. M/C. 12. Library Apportionment update: Next meeting is August 26, 2026, at Lakes Country Library. 13. Road Work: Frog Pond Road had another culvert failure. This will be a 50% cost share using Bridge Aid. Should hear in July for LRIP work on Gallon Road from Sherman Rd to Logtown. 14. County Board update: Currently searching for land along the Stiles junction corridor for possible purchase for Oconto County Highway Department facilities. Appointments to committees were made. 15. Approval of LP contract. Countrystyle Propane 2026/2027 heating season contract presented. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve. M/C 16. Public comments: None 17. Adjourned 6:41 pm.
