MINUTES MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF OCONTO 6120 CREAM CITY ROAD, OCONTO, WI 54153 1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 6:00 by Chairman Scanlan. Present: Clerk Scanlan, Supervisor Pansier, Supervisor Van Hulle, Treasurer Leonard, Others present see attendance sheet. 2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve. M /C 4. Approve minutes August 10, 2026. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle M/C 5. Treasurer’s report: General Checking: Treasurer reported a starting balance of $117,932.82 August deposits of $123,333.03; September orders totaled $21,573.92 leaving an ending balance of $219,691.93. Tax account balance $0. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve treasurer’s report. M/C 6. Approve Orders for payment: Clerk presented ACH for $1694.45 for payroll taxes order #6968 through 6991 $21,573.92 Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve orders for payment. M/C 7. Correspondence Received The clerk completed 2 title search forms. State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue sent: Notice of Personal property aid 2027 estimate $357.07 Notice of 2023 WI Act 12 personal property aid 2027 estimate $ 141.89 Final 2026 Equalized values posted email. Chairman completed driveway permit for Josh Davis 6863 Gallon Rd; and Jake VanderVoort Nuthatch Lane. Utility permit completed for Spectrum Mid-America Timber cutting notice received for Leon Bitters, 4209 Logtown Road Email from Oconto Fire Chief Josh Bostedt about contract for 3-year renewal. See clerk for details. Preliminary January 2026 population estimate for Town of Oconto is 1,373 8. Board of Commissioners Public Land Loan for Military Road project. Currently reviewing Right of Way purchase costs. Will continue to review monthly. 9. Comprehensive Planning Committee: No meeting 10. Discuss/approve 1-day temporary Alcohol (beer and wine) beverage license for Elks Lodge #887 (for the fly in) and bar tender license for Jeremy Wusterbarth. Discussion held, motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve. M/C 11. Fire/Ambulance contact for years 2027, 2028 and 2029 with City of Oconto update: Mayor Cliff Martin present to propose a 1-year contract at 5% increase. Discussion held, motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve. M/C Page 2 12. Library Apportionment update: Deb Schroeder attended the August meeting at Lakes Country Library. Gave a handout to the board of the information handed out at meeting regarding FAQ’s for creating a joint library. Will continue to update board as necessary. 13. Road work: Chairman completed the certification report for DOT. Quote for Sherman Road culvert replacement (50% Bride Aid) of $15,879 discussed. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve. M/C 14. County Board update. Oconto County Highway Department land purchase: landowners near Stiles are no longer interested in selling. Search continues to suitable land. 15. Public comments: 16.
