Business:
1. Planning & Zoning – Rezone Parcel #042-323206331K 17030 N. Wapota. P&Z chairperson Tim McGuire
said that owner Mike Maass and his brother want to rezone this lot from Rural Residental (RR) to
Residential Single Family (R1). The intent is to divide the 2.51-acre property into two, 1.25-acre
parcels, with the option to build a residence in the future. There are adequate public facilities to serve
the proposed land use, The burdens on the local government for providing services for this proposal
are reasonable. The proposal agrees with the Town Vision Statement as found in the Town
Comprehensive Plan. The proposal agrees with the Town Goals, Objectives & Development Strategies
as found in the Town Comprehensive Plan. McGuire is recommending that the town board approve
this rezone. DeMoulin made the motion to approve the rezone for Parcel #042-323206331K from
Rural Residential to Residential Single Family, 2nd by Evans – M/A.
2. Town Hall update – DeMoulin discussed the extensive icicles hanging from the eaves recently. He used
the fire department thermo-imaging camera, went into the attic area and followed the heat duct lines.
He found two of the ducts had 6-inch gaps, called Dama and they came and fixed. DeMoulin also
brought Consolidated Insulators back and they redistributed some of the insulation in the addition.
They will be coming back to take a closer look in the existing hall attic, stating they need to fix some of
their faults. Bontragrager should begin work on the fire department/highway siding the end of this
month. A water softener was installed in the hall and feeds both buildings. This will help with the
“rusty” water and eliminates the water spots on the fire trucks.
3. Weight Limits – truck weight limits went into effect Monday, March 10.
4. Annual Meeting – This meeting will be held Tuesday, April 15 at 5pm to have the whole board
involved. Ziegler will post with the time change
5. Flag Drop – used American Flags can be dropped off at the recycle center. One of the employees is
involved with the American Legion and will bring the flags to Wabeno for proper disposal.
Public Comment: Michelle Zelle asked how the donations for the 4th of July fireworks are going? Zeller said
there will be fireworks, and there is a meeting scheduled April 7 to discuss our options.
Correspondence: The town board received an email from Carol Phills of Last Wilderness Alliance concerning
the wake boat lobbyists at the state capital, trying to persuade our legislation to overturn any town
ordinances. Zeller contacted Rep. Calvin Callahan, who said the legislators are not working on this in Madison.
