Town of Townsend Comprehensive Planning Commission Meeting Tuesday, March 4, 2025 The Comprehensive Planning Commission for the Town of Townsend was called to order at 5:00pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, by Chairman Tim McGuire Commission members present: Dan DeMoulin, Willie Evans, Dave Exferd, Linda Ziegler, Tim McGuire, Mike and Jim Maass. Absent: Joanne Jones, Ken Schwebke Confirm proper posting of meeting notices: the notice was posted at the Townsend Town Hall, Laona State Bank, Townsend location, Townsend Post office and www.townsendwisconsin.org, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and emailed to board members and additional copies were available at the meeting Evans made the motion to approve the minutes from January 7, 2025, 2nd by Exferd – M/A Note: after the rezone case discussed in January was determined, the county informed Townsend Planning & Zoning that we did not have to hear this case, since it involved a tower. Rezone Application, Parcel #042-323206331K, 17030 N. Wapota Dr, owners Mike and Robert Maass. The owners would like to rezone the property from Rural Residential (RR) to Residential Single Family (R1). The intent is to divide the 2.51-acre property into two, 1.25-acre parcels, with the option to build a residence in the future. McGuire asked Mike Maass why there was no survey map. Maass responded that they were waiting for the rezone before the land division. There are adequate public facilities to serve the proposed land use, The burdens on the local government for providing services for this proposal are reasonable. The proposal agrees with the Town Vision Statement as found in the Town Comprehensive Plan. The proposal agrees with the Town Goals, Objectives & Development Strategies as found in the Town Comprehensive Plan. DeMoulin made the motion to approve the rezone for Parcel # 042-32320631K from Rural Residential to Residential Single Family, 2nd by Evans – M/A No Public Comment No other business The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 1, 2025 @ 5pm if required.
