CITY OF MARINETTE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES FROM 0 8 / 1 7 /2 6 Dr. Daniel Kallgren, Historic Preservation Commission Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 10:0 4 am in the Marinette City Hall Common Council Chambers , 1905 Hall Avenue , Marinette, W isconsin. 1. Upon a call of the roll , it was determined a quorum of committee members were present and the following attendance was recorded as follows: COMMI SSIONERS PR ESENT: Chairperson Dr. Dan Kallgren, Alderperson Dylan Demmith, Commissioner s M ark Davenport , Denise Ruleau and James Martell . COMMISSIONERS ABSENT & EXCUSED : Commissioner Mike Minzlaff OTHERS PRESENT: Mayor Genisot. 2. Approval of Minutes . Commissioner Davenport moved/ Commissioner Demmith se conded and all concurred, to approve, as submitted, the City of Marinette Historic Preservation Committee regular meeting minutes from 7 /1 3 /26 . 3. Discussion and possible action for installation of M eridian P late Monument . Commissioner Davenport reported that he is working with City Engineer Brian Miller on the installation. City Engineer Mille wants to have the city workers involved. The plan is to have it installed by the middle of September. The decision was made not to have a concrete base, but to just have it placed in the grass. The city workers will use their equipment to place it in the proper location. 4. D iscussion and possible agenda items for the next meeting. The following items were requested to be a part of the agenda for the next meeting:  Discussion and possible action on the Cemetery Wall on Mary Street at Forest Home Cemetery .  Installation of the Meridian Plate Monument and to ask C ricket Harbeck to look at multiple monuments that need restoration .  Discussion and possible action on the First Mill Site sign, the Farnsworth Mill sign and the Queen Marinette sign .  Discussion and possible action regarding the signage for the Portage sign to include a QR code for more information about other monuments in the City of Marinette.  Discussion and possible action about opening the guardrail by the Farnsworth Mill sign so it could be more easily accessed. 5. Adjournment. Commissioner Davenport move d/ Alderperson Ruleau seconded and all concurred, to adjourn at 1 0:2 6 am .
