Jail Activities • Staffing, Operations, and Activities Captain Ronnie Leach: • Working on filling one vacant male and one vacant female positions • Three Corrections Officers are attending the Jail Academy • September 16, 2026 - the annual jail inspection by the Department of Corrections 7. Operations Activities • Patrol - Staffing, Operations, and Activities • Communication Center - Staffing, Operations, and Activities Captain Josh Ostrowski: • Patrol: o Conducted interviews for vacant Deputy positions on September 15, 2026; backgrounding one candidate o One Deputy is in the final stages of training and is doing well • Communication Center: o Conducted interviews for the vacant Communication Technician positions on September 10, 2026; backgrounding one candidate and testing several others o One Communication Technician is in training and is doing well 8. District Attorney Activities • Staffing, Operations, and Activities District Attorney Cass Cousins: • Currently in a process of hiring a new Victim Witness Coordinator • Was asked to present at a Death Investigation Conference on prosecuting homicide offenses 11. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 12. Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes August 26, 2026 A motion was made by Mike Splinter, seconded by Scott Soik, to approve the August 26, 2026 Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes. Motion carried by voice vote, with no negative votes.
