W2435 Old Peshtigo Road Marinette, WI 54143 715-582-4332 www.townofpeshtigo.org MEETING MINUTES Annual Town Meeting Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 6 p.m. Annual Town Meeting 1) Call to order: Chairperson Friday called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. 2) Pledge of allegiance 3) Minute Approval a. 4/18/23 Annual Town Meeting: Mimi Schahczenski motion to approve the minutes with the correction of Trygve Rhude’s spelling/Second by Wendel Johnson. Majority vote yes. b. 11/21/23 Special Town Meeting: Lou Ann Seils motion to approve/Second by Amber Lynwood. Majority vote yes. 4) Financial Review 5) Next Annual Town Meeting: Tuesday April 15, 2025 6) Discussion and potential action on matters of interest to Town electors- 42 residents present. (discussions are subject to a motion and a second by a Town resident) a. Connie Hass motion/Second by Betsy Jaeger to change the Clerk position from appointed to an elected position. Vote: 10 yay, 32 nays. Motion failed. b. Denise Wiedemeier motion/Second by Cindy Baur to increase Town Officials wage by $2,000/year. Vote: 14 yay, 27 nays, 1 abstain. Motion failed. c. Advisory motion made by Cindy Baur/Second by Mark Monnette to complete an independent audit from 2019-present. Advisory vote: 17 in favor, 25 opposed. d. Mike Folgert motion/Second by Clarence Coble to authorize the Town to sell and/or dispose of surplus equipment. Motion carried with unanimous yes vote. 7) Motion to Adjourn: Gary Schahczenski motion to adjourn at 7:00pm/Second by Mimi Schahczenski. Unanimous vote yes.
