TOWN OF PORTERFIELD Monthly Town Board Meeting October 8, 2025 Chairperson Dennis Bergeson called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:00 PM with 13 in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Amy Linstad made a motion to accept the agenda as listed. Zak Albrecht second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Agenda approved. Zak Albrecht made a motion to approve the past minutes as read. Amy Linstad second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Minutes approved. Audrey Guseck mentioned a special guest: Rhen; an inspiring student. Audrey gave the treasurer’s report noting the total cash on hand as of September 30, 2025 was $463,986.47. Amy Linstad made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Zak Albrecht second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Report approved. Open floor: Tom Buelteman talked about the County budget comparing the last 3 years to this year, and the budget is still tight. Check the County website. Their next budget meeting will be October 28th, 9am. A town resident stated improvements of the condition on Schwalla Dr., however; needs more work. Ron Harrison asked for a moment of silence for the Peshtigo Fire Anniversary, which was observed. There were no operator’s license this month. The Pre-Budget meeting will be October 22, 2025, 9am at the Townhall. Roadwork: Schwalla Dr. is graveled and good for the winter. Fire Department: No one present at tonight’s meeting. Cemetery Committee: All good. Recycling: All good. Tuesdays brought in about $1,800.00. Building permits: All good. Bryan Lauritzen (Building Inspector) is resigning the end of this year, we are looking for a replacement. Correspondence was read and bills were paid. The next meeting will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 6 PM at the Porterfield Town Hall following the Special Town Electors Meeting which is preceded by the Town Electors Budget Meeting.
