TOWN OF PORTERFIELD Monthly Town Board Meeting September 17, 2025 Chairperson Dennis Bergeson called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:02 PM with 13 in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Amy Linstad made a motion to accept the agenda as listed. Zak Albrecht second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Agenda approved. Zak Albrecht made a motion to approve the past minutes as read. Amy Linstad second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Minutes approved. Audrey Guseck gave the treasurer’s report noting the total cash on hand as of August 31, 2025 was $172,722.38. Amy Linstad made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Zak Albrecht second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Report approved. Open floor: Town Residents discussed concerns about the condition of Schwalla Drive. Tom Buelteman stated: John Lafave is leaving the Marinette County position, there will be discussion on the succession plan, and a tight budget. The budget meeting is 9/30/2025, your input is welcome on the County website. Amy Linstad made a motion to approve the operator license for Madelynn Henry at the Porterfield Pit Stop. Zak Albrecht seconded the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad – yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Motion approved. Amy Linstad made a motion to have Marinette County collect our taxes. Zak Albrecht seconded the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad – yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Motion approved. Roadwork: Winesville Rd. is paved; Miles Rd. to Farm Rd. Fire Department: No one present at tonight’s meeting. Cemetery Committee: All OK. Recycling: Several residents liked the extra hours on Tuesdays, however; 6pm was too late. Building permits: None this month. Correspondence was read and bills were paid. The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 6 PM at the Porterfield Town Hall.
