TOWN OF PORTERFIELD Monthly Town Board Meeting May 21, 2025 Chairperson Dennis Bergeson called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:10 PM with 13 in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was previously recited. Zak Albrecht made a motion to accept the agenda as listed with the correction of Line #6 stating Ordinance instead of Resolution. Amy Linstad second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Agenda approved. Amy Linstad made a motion to approve the past minutes as read. Zak Albrecht second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Minutes approved. Audrey Guseck gave the treasurer’s report noting the total cash on hand as of April 30, 2025 was $431,363.87. Zak Albrecht made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Amy Linstad second the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad - yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Report approved. Open floor: 4 Town Board Members (Amy/Zak/Dawn/Audrey) attended the Spring Town Workshop in Green Bay. Tom Buetelman stated Marinette County Department Heads met to work on their 5-year plan to set goals, budgets, etc. They will have a meeting for the citizen’s input near the end of June. Please watch the paper for that date and time. Marinette County is looking to purchase the Soo Rail line that has been abandoned from Marinette to Crivitz for the purpose of developing trails. Amy Linstad made a motion to approve the approve the ordinance for alternate Board of Review members (2025-1). Zak Albrecht seconded the motion. Roll Call: Amy Linstad – yes, Zak Albrecht – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Ordinance approved. Roadwork: Winesville Road culverts are done today, Sandberg Road will have culverts replaced as needed. Thanks went out to the Road Crew for patching roads. Roads are graded and downed trees are taken care of. Fire Department: A few bad calls. Cemetery Committee: No one present. Recycling: No one present. Building permits: Nothing at this time. Correspondence was read and bills were paid. The next meeting will be Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 6 PM at the Porterfield Town Hall.
