TOWN OF PORTERFIELD Monthly Town Board Meeting March 12, 2025 Chairperson Dennis Bergeson called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:00 PM with 10 in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Audrey Guseck made a motion to accept the agenda as listed. Dennis Bergeson second the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck - yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Agenda approved. Audrey Guseck made a motion to approve the past minutes as read. Dennis Bergeson second the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck - yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Minutes approved. Wendell Phillips gave the treasurer’s report noting the total cash on hand as of February 28, 2025 was $393,044.17. Audrey Gusek made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Dennis Bergeson second the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck - yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Report approved. Open Floor: Corry Lambi spoke about Marinette School’s Referendum which will be on the ballot on April 1, 2025. There were no operator’s licenses this month. Audrey Guseck made a motion to accept Resolution #2025-1 to Initiate Process for Discontinuing a Highway – Carviou Lane. Dennis Bergeson seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Resolution approved. Roadwork: Patching roads will start as soon as weather allows. The Grading crew will go out as well, when it is dry enough. Fire Department: Couple calls on Hwy 180 with vehicles, other than that there were some trees down. Cemetery Committee: No one at tonight’s meeting. Recycling: There was discussion on how to position the hoppers. Audrey Guseck made a motion to approve a half day at the recycling center starting June 1st through August 31st on Tuesdays from 1 PM to 6 PM. Dennis Bergeson seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Motion approved. There was discussion on cost of tires to recycle. It was determined to keep the cost as is for now and monitor it. Building permits: Audrey Guseck made a motion to approve the new building permit fee schedule from Bryan Lauritzen. Dennis Bergeson seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Fee Schedule approved. The new fee schedule will take effect immediately. Correspondence was read and bills were paid. The next meeting is the Annual Electors Meeting held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 6 PM followed by the Monthly Board meeting at the Porterfield Town Hall.
