TOWN OF PORTERFIELD Monthly Town Board Meeting February 12, 2025 Chairperson Dennis Bergeson called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:00 PM with 9 in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. There was a moment of silence in memory of Supervisor 2, Donald Limberg, who passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2025. Don worked as a Town Supervisor for 19 years and will be greatly missed. Audrey Guseck made a motion to accept the agenda as listed. Dennis Bergeson second the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck - yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Agenda approved. Audrey Guseck made a motion to approve the past minutes as read. Dennis Bergeson second the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck - yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Minutes approved. Wendell Phillips gave the treasurer’s report noting the total cash on hand as of January 31,2025 was $57,787.17 excluding property tax. Audrey Gusek made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Dennis Bergeson second the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck - yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Report approved. Open Floor: Nothing for open floor. There were no operator’s licenses this month. Roadwork: Plowing snow. There was also discussion on mailboxes that are hit by the snowplows. Fire Department: No one at tonight’s meeting. Cemetery Committee: all good Recycling: all good. There was also discussion on opening the recycling center for a half-day during the week for the summer on a trial basis. Building permits: Do not have any for the year as of yet. Correspondence was read and bills were paid. Audrey Guseck made a motion to give Wendell (Treasurer) permission to pay a portion of the tax settlement to Marinette County, Marinette Schools, Wausaukee Schools, and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College when it comes due. Dennis Bergeson seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Motion approved. The next meeting is Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 6 PM at the Porterfield Town Hall.
