TOWN OF PORTERFIELD MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING August 14, 2024 Chairperson, Dennis Bergeson called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:00 PM with 10 in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Audrey Guseck made a motion to approve the agenda as printed. Don Limberg seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Don Limberg – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Agenda approved. Don Limberg made a motion to approve the minutes as read. Audrey Guseck seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Don Limberg – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Minutes approved. Audrey Guseck gave the Treasurer’s Report in Wendell Philipps absence noting the total cash on hand as of July 31, 2024, was $453,191.37. Don Limberg made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report as presented. Audrey Guseck seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Don Limberg – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Report approved. Open Floor: Thank you to our election inspectors for a job well done. We had 451 voters with 87 absentees and 11 election day registrations. There was discussion on the shape of Winesville Road and weeds around stop sign at the corner of Miles and Winesville. There was also discussion on Schwalla & Phillips Road and blacktop paving timeline. Grass cutting will be done again in September. There was also discussion on the R/R crossing sign on Bagley Road that is down. Audrey Guseck made a motion to accept the operator’s license for Miranda Johnson, Jamie Dilo, Noel Ogden, and Joseph Swiatnicki for The Kickback. Don Limberg seconded the motion. Don Limberg made a motion to accept the Ordinance #2024-1 Establishing Special Weight Limitations – Jacobson Road. Audrey Guseck seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Don Limberg – Yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Ordinance approved. Audrey Guseck made a motion to approve the Culvert for Miles Road with Frank’s Logging doing the excavation work. Don Limberg seconded the motion. Audrey Guseck made a motion to hire Craig Kopatz as a town employee (this will include snow plowing/brush and grass cutting). Don Limberg seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Don Limberg – Yes, Dennis Bergeson - yes. Motion approved. Fire Commission – been quiet. Cemetery Committee – Audrey Guseck made a motion to add Darrel Baker to the Cemetery Committee. Don Limberg seconded the motion. Roll Call: Audrey Guseck – yes, Don Limberg – yes, Dennis Bergeson – yes. Motion approved. Recycling Center – all is good Building Permits – All good. Correspondence was read and bills were paid.
