MEETING MINUTES
South Central Library System Board of Trustees
July 23, 2026
Present: Nancy Foth, President; Mary Nelson, Vice President; Michael Howe, Secretary (online); Joe
Bachmann (online); Richard Bloomquist (online); Chassitti Clark (online); Bill Clendenning; Susan Feith;
Joan Fordham (online); Latonya Jackson-Flynn (online); Tayler Palkowski (online); Henry St. Maurice;
Amanda Smith (online); Jordan Tilleson (online), Jacob Wright (online). Administration: Shannon
Schultz, Director; Kerrie Goeden, HR & Finance Coordinator.
Excused: Marlee Jorgensen, Susan Feith, Gary Poulson

1. Call to Order
N. Foth called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m.
2. Introduction of Guests and Visitors
None.
3. Changes or Additions to the Agenda
None.
4. Requests to Address the Board
None.
5. Approval of the Previous Meeting Minutes
Motion by B. Clendenning to approve the minutes of the 6/25/2026 Board of Trustees meeting.
Seconded by H. St. Maurice. J. Wright abstained. Motion carried.
6. Review of the Financial Statements
K. Goeden provided an overview the financial statements.
7. Presentation and Approval of Bills for Payment
Motion by M. Nelson to approve bills for payment in the amount of $276,892.50. Seconded by
M. Howe. Motion carried.
8. Reports
a. Committees
i. Budget & Finance and Personnel Committees are scheduled to review the final
draft 2027 budget on August 13th, 2026. That meeting will be held virtually.
b. Director’s Report
i. S. Schultz shared updates from the Director’s Report. Report is available in the
documents online.
9. Presentation: ILS and Governance Updates
S. Schultz shared updates on the ILS migration, including and introduction of why SCLS decided
to move away from Bibliovation and how the system chose SirsiDynix Symphony Web. She gave
updates on a few of the migration complications libraries have experienced such as circulation
response times, reporting and holds data, and the upcoming transition to BLUEcloud. Schultz
followed that with an overview of the governance structure review process currently underway.
10. Announcements and Information Sharing
N. Foth gave updates on the Cornerstone Event, which is taking place at the Goodman
Community Center at 5:00 p.m. on October 8, 2026. She strongly encouraged all trustees to
attend the event, as the SCLS Foundation raises funds to support SCLS member libraries.
11. Next meeting: August 27, 2026
Bill Examiner is N. Foth, and the alternate is G. Carter.
