Emergency Management Activities • Plan Updates • Operations and Exercises • Meetings, Conferences, and Trainings • Office Activities EM Coordinator Bob Weinert: Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes August 26, 2026 Page 2 of 4 • Plan Updates o Have been working on numerous planning efforts:  The Countywide Strategic Hazardous Materials Plan  The County Disaster Plan  The Integrated Preparedness Plan  Working with Towns to assist them with updating their local disaster plans • Operations and Exercises o Participated in the Measles exercise hosted by the University • Meetings, Conferences, and Trainings o Participated in the Regional Emergency Management meeting o Participated in the Household and Community Readiness Group meeting and the Operational Readiness Preparedness Group meeting o Were asked to host a location for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency for their Dam Sector Security Forum in October • Office Activities o Compiling information and forms in preparation for the 2026 FEMA grant 5. Emergency Medical Services Activities • Grant Applications and Reporting • Meetings, Trainings, Operations, and Activities • Provider Correspondence and Questions EMS Coordinator Andrea Krantz: • Will be applying for the Funding Assistance Program (FAP) grant • Attended EMS Association Meeting • Portage County EMS Association Banquet is scheduled for October 6th, 2026 • Will be assisting with Stop the Bleed training and will be participating in the Rescue Task Force training on August 26, 2026 6. Jail Activities • Staffing, Operations, and Activities Lieutenant Shoemaker: • Had interviews for vacant positions, have a couple of good potential candidates that will be moving to background investigation • Had two resignations recently • Preparing for the Jail Inspection in mid-September 7. Operations Activities • Patrol - Staffing, Operations, and Activities • Communication Center - Staffing, Operations, and Activities Captain Josh Ostrowski: • Patrol: o One Deputy resigned o Two new Deputies completed their initial training o One new Deputy started at the end of July • Communication Center: o Communication Technician interviews are ongoing o One new Communication Technician started on August 24, 2026 o Conducting background investigation on one Communication Technician candidate Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes August 26, 2026 Page 3 of 4 8. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 12. Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes July 22, 2026 A motion was made by Scott Soik, seconded by Mike Splinter, to approve the July 22, 2026 Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes. Motion carried by voice vote, with no negative votes. DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION 13. Resolution RE: Approving and Authorizing an Agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. (Axon) to Provide Body Worn Cameras (BWCs), Hosted Digital Secure Storage, Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS), Redaction Software, and Other Services for the Years 2027-2031 A motion was made by Scott Soik, seconded by Robin Falk, to Approve and Authorize an Agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. to Provide Body Work Cameras (BWCs), Hosted Digital Secure Storage, Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS), Redaction Software, and Other Services for the Years 2027-2031. Motion carried by voice vote, with no negative votes. 14. Discussion /Possible Action RE: Approval of a Guardian RFID, Inmate Wellness Check Monitoring Compliance System and Mobile Inmate Tracking System Contract A motion was made by Scott Soik, seconded by Mike Splinter, to Approve a Guardian RFID, Inmate Wellness Check Monitoring Compliance System and Mobile Inmate Tracking System Contract. Motion carried by voice vote, with no negative votes. 15. Discussion/Possible Action RE: Approval of a 3-Year Maintenance Agreement for Stryker Lift/Load Cots Public Safety/Emergency Management Committee Meeting Minutes August 26, 2026 Page 4 of 4 A motion was made by Robin Falk, seconded by Landon Elgersma, to Approve a 3-Year Maintenance Agreement for Stryker Lift/Load Cots.
