1. County Administrator 2027 Proposed Budget - Andy Albarado
Albarado gave an overview of the 2027 proposed budget and explained that overall, it’s a status quo
budget. The proposed tax rate is $2.00 which is a reduction from $2.12 in the 2026 budget. The
recommendation is a decrease of 5.49%. The main reason for the decrease of the tax rate is in direct
correlation with the County’s Equalized Value for FY27, which increased by 9.23% or $971,532,800, and
the ongoing efforts to budget within levy restrictions. The proposed property tax levy for the 2027
Chippewa County budget will increase to $23,051,141 from $22,330,263 from the 2026 budget. Overall,
the property tax levy will increase by $720,878 or 3.23%.
The budget will get published after this meeting so everyone has the next month to review it. The County
Board meets on November 5th for the budget hearing and then again on November 10th to adopt the
levy.
