Fire Commission — Minutes

Town of Wheaton Fire Commission Minutes March 5th, 2025 1) The meeting has been properly posted (per Wisconsin Statute 19.84) 2) The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by acting chairman Quinnell with the Pledge of Allegiance being recited and a moment of silence being observed. 3) Roll call was taken, all members present. 4) A motion was made by Jones, seconded by Quinnell, to approve the agenda and WFC minutes of the January 8th, 2025 meeting. 5) There was no public comment. 6) Fire chief report: - Repairs were made on some trucks . - A contract was signed for the new engine which will take 30 months to complete. - A new rescue truck was bought with fundraising money. 7) Unfinished business: - A revised fire chief evaluation form was discussed and will be reviewed at the next meeting - Creation of a fire commissioners “Guidebook” was tabled 8) New business: - Fire chief job description was tabled - The chief appointment process was discussed with a possible need for a resume/ job application with posting in the normal spots. Possible post date of May 1st- 31st for fire chief. 9) Potential agenda items for the next meeting: - All items in unfinished and new business Next meeting date is March 27th, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Wheaton Town Hall Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 with a motion by Quinnell and a second by Jones.
