Updated Non-Motorized Boat Launch Repair and Maintenance Items Cost Estimate City Administrator Wolf provided an update on the non-motorized boat launch repair and maintenance project and reviewed the updated proposals submitted by Luke Busker Masonry. The Committee discussed the proposed improvements and directed staff to obtain a revised quote that includes demolition and replacement of the existing concrete stairs and sidewalk, tuckpointing of the fieldstone stairway walls, and tuckpointing and resetting of stones along the existing limestone retaining walls. The Committee requested that the stone plinths, planter bowls, and cast-iron bowls be removed from the revised quote. The Committee also discussed adding a handrail and replacing the existing benches with new benches at a different location, depending on the cost of the benches. The Committee also decided to delay additional improvement items, including boulders to prevent further deterioration, extension of the limestone retaining wall, and construction of a five-foot-wide concrete access ramp, for a future phase of the project. Staff will obtain a revised quote and forward it to City Council for consideration. 3. Discussion on Alley Improvements Behind Cherry Street and Orange Street City Administrator Wolf presented information regarding potential improvements to the alley connecting Cherry Street and Orange Street behind the businesses along Broad Street. Wolf explained that the alley currently experiences drainage issues and that a prospective purchaser of 216 Broad Street, Megan Langer, is exploring options to address stormwater issues affecting the property. Addressing the issue would likely require installation of a storm inlet connected to the City's stormwater system. Wolf outlined a potential long-term solution that would include alley improvements and additional stormwater infrastructure. While the option would be more costly and require additional analysis and design work by Cedar Corporation, staff indicated it would be more efficient if completed in conjunction with the potential redevelopment of 216 Broad Street. Megan Langer stated that the project is currently in the architectural design phase and that she is exploring options to address stormwater issues on the site. Langer added that she intends for the rear alley area to be as attractive to visitors as the front of the building. Public Works Director Kinneman suggested exploring an agreement with the owner of 220 Broad Street to direct stormwater runoff to the existing storm inlet located on the neighboring gas station property. Committee Member Sorenson supported improving the alley to accommodate future redevelopment but recommended waiting for additional information regarding a potential agreement between the affected property owners before proceeding further. Other Business City Administrator Wolf presented a quote from Graphic House for the fabrication and installation of signs at Riverfront Park and Sunset Park. Wolf stated that the final sign designs are still being completed. The total project cost is $15,001.38 and would be funded through existing accounts for each location. The Committee supported moving forward with the proposal to the City Council for consideration once the final sign designs are completed. Commissioner Hintz motioned to adjourn. Sorenson seconded; motion passed without a negative voice ( 2 -0). The meeting was adjourned at 5 :5 4 PM. The next Parks & Public Works Committee will be Ju ly 20 , 202 6 , at 5:00 PM. Respectfully Submitted, Luke Wiese, Planner
