May 27, 2026 Town of Dewey Board Meeting Note: These are the proposed Minutes that will be approved at the next Board meeting. ___________________________________________________________________________ Minutes Wednesday, May 27, 2026 430 Dewey Drive-Stevens Point WI 54482 Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: The open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor LeRoy Pukrop, Supervisor Dennis Meis and Clerk Angela Lochinger were present. Treasurer Lori Kolodziej was excused. 2 town residents and/or visitors were present. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 9:00 am. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Review Safety & Health Plan with town employees: The Safety & Health Plan was briefly reviewed with town employees. Employees were provided copies and asked to review the plan and return the signed acknowledgement page. Discussion/Action on a motion to enter into Closed Session per Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c) to consider town road & maintenance evaluations: Supervisor Pukrop motioned to enter into Closed Session per Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c) to consider town road & maintenance evaluations at 9:04 am. Supervisor Meis seconded. The motion passed 3-0. The Board returned to open session at 10:00 am. Discussion/Action on resignation of town road & maintenance employee: The Board discussed the resignation of town road & maintenance employee Steward Plaski. Supervisor Pukrop motioned to accept Steward’s resignation, with the understanding that he is willing to help until his replacement is found, and to pay out his remaining vacation balance. Supervisor Meis seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Discussion/Action on consideration of hiring employee to fill the open town road & maintenance employee position: The Board discussed the open town road & maintenance employee position and whether to post the position as full-time or part-time. Supervisor Pukrop motioned to post the full-time Road & Maintenance Employee position on Indeed and the town website. Supervisor Meis seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 10:07 a.m.
