At 7:15 p.m. the Regular Meeting was closed and the Public Hearing for the ambulance service was opened.
Some residents concerns include time it has been taking the ambulance to arrive, not having a backup
ambulance if one is already on a call, if there is a call at the prison that is at least a four hour block where the
ambulance is tied up, are we going back to Monroe and telling them they are not fulfilling our contract with
them, why are they not being held accountable, why hasn’t the Town held a hearing prior to tonight, can we get
coverage from both ambulance services, what happens if we vote no tonight for ambulance coverage, why
wasn’t the Fire Company asked for input, etc.
People have been heard and the Public Hearing was closed at 7:50 p.m. and the Regular Meeting reconvened.
A motion was made by Mr. Woolston and seconded by Ms. Ashbery to vote on the Monroe Contract.
