Chairman Schneider advised on what occurred at the Broadband Meeting held at Calumet County Courthouse on 01/05/2025. The entire town board was in attendance. Several presentations were made that night. The BEAD Program was discussed. Larry Propson makes a motion, seconded by Doug Marcelle, endorsing all four internet service providers: Charter, Bertram, Frontier, and Bug Tussel to complete the project. Motion carried. Tree removal bids by Halbach Excavating were reviewed. Saint Charles Rd comes in at $13,000 and Paradise Rd at $8,500. The board compared this to the Abler bid at $13,500-$18,000 based on 30-40 hrs total. Chairman Schneider indicates permission was obtained from the landowners. The town board now proposes to split the cost with the landowners. The town will pay for half and the other half will be divided between all the landowners based on time spent on their land, to be determined by the company performing the service. If the landowners wish to take care of it themselves, they have that option as well as long as completed by the end of 2025. Logan is to contact the landowners and Chairman Schneider to contact WTA to determine landowner legal liability and legal authority for town to address the matter. Matter tabled until the March meeting. Logan Schmitz gave the Highway Supervisor Report. 80 tons of salt came in today. Being no further business, Doug Marcelle made a motion, seconded by Larry Propson, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:01 p.m. LeAnne Karls, Town Clerk
