September 2023 Minutes

Town of New Holstein Town Hall 6:30 September 13, 2023 The regular monthly meeting for the Town of New Holstein was called to order at 6:30 pm by Chairman, Ben Henke. Members present: Chairman Ben Henke, Supervisor Dean Konen, Supervisor Len Heimerman, Treasurer Mary Jo Muellenbach, and Clerk Lynn Pendleton. Also present was resident, Christopher Collin The pledge of Allegiance was recited by all. A motion to accept the agenda was made by Supervisor Konen, seconded by Supervisor Heimerman, motion carried. A motion to make an amendment to the agenda for the approval of minutes from the August 9, 2023 meeting was made by Supervisor Konen, seconded by Chairman Henke, motion carried. A motion to accept the minutes from the August 9, 2023, meeting as read was made by Chairman Henke, seconded by Supervisor Heimerman, motion carried. Public Comments: Mr. Collin recommended his neighbor’s house be taken down. He shared concerns that it is unsafe and has many critters. Commented that no investors want it. A motion to approve the monthly treasurers’ report as presented was made by Supervisor Heimerman, seconded by Chairman Henke, motion carried. A motion to accept the September bills for payment was made by Supervisor Konen, seconded by Supervisor Heimerman, motion carried. A motion to give authority to Chair to move forward on the Raze Orders at N966 Plymouth Trail Road and W104 Charlesburg Road was made by Supervisor Konen, seconded by Supervisor Heimerman, motion carried. Discussion took place on Raising Tax Levy Limit, tabled until further information is available. Discussion took place on having a Preliminary Budget Meeting; Clerk Pendleton will work with the Clerk from Town of Chilton who will be assisting to set up a date for the meeting. Discussed signage trailer for town road projects to be tabled until further information is available. Discussed Townhall Software. Some concerns on ease of use and customer service have been issues. Will look into other options. The First Annual Fall Operators meeting is set for October 7, 2023 at the Town Hall at 8am. A motion on the resolution to support consolidation recycling efficiency grant was made by Chairman Henke, seconded by Supervisor Konen, motion carried. A date was set for Large Item Drop Off to take place October 14, 2023 at the Town of New Holstein. Discussed correspondence from Calumet County.
