Town Board — Minutes

November 13, 2024 The special meeting of the Electors of the Town of Rantoul was called to order by Chairman Eugene Mertz at 6:30 pm at Potter Village Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The purpose of this meeting was the Public Hearing and Special Town Meeting on the proposed 2025 Budget. There werethe five (5) Town Board members and one (1) town resident in attendance. Discussion was h eld on the various budget items . Motion by David Jannette second byGregg Eickert to close the hearing portion of the meeting; motion carried by voice vote. Chairman Mertz called the Special Town Meeting to order at 6: 48 pm. He verified that meeting notices were posted. Clerk Mink confirmed notices were posted ,and also published on the municipal website on October 29, 2024. Compensation for the elected officials for the term of office to begin April 2025, pursuant to Section 60.32(1)(b) of Wis. Statutes, was the first item on the agenda. Motion by David Jannette second by Gregg Eickert to set the salaries as follows: Chairperson -$7,500 annually, Supervisors -$4,500 annually. Motion carried by voice vote. Motion byGregg Eickert second by David Jannette, pursuant to Section 60.10 (1)(a) of Wis. Stat utes, to adopt Resolution 2024-04, a Resolution for Electors to Adopt the Town Tax Levy at Special Town Meeting of the Electors, setting the town taxlevy for 2024 to be collected in 2025 at $292,402; motion carried. _6_ Aye _0_ Naythe Resolution is adopted. Chairman Mertz verified that meeting notices were posted on October 29, 2024. Motion byDavid Jannette second by Gregg Eickert to approve the 2025 Budget with a $ 292,402 levy as was set by the Electors at the Special Town Meeting held November 1 3, 2024; motion carried by voice vote.
