Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: The open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King,
Supervisor Dennis Meis, Clerk Angela Lochinger, and Treasurer Lori Kolodziej were present. Supervisor
LeRoy Pukrop was excused. 0 town residents and/or visitors were present.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:00 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance
was recited.
Approval of Minutes from the meeting of August 13, 2025 and August 27, 2025: Supervisor Meis
motioned to approve the minutes of August 13, 2025, as presented. Chairman King seconded. The
motion passed 2-0.

Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: None
Supervisor Comments/Concerns: None
Discussion/Action on winter propane contract: The board reviewed several winter propane contract
options and discussed past experience with Allied Propane, noting that their contract terms and pricing
have been favorable.
Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the 2025 -2026 propane contract with Allied Cooperative at
$1.549 a gallon. Chairman King seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Discussion/Action on adoption of the Town of Dewey Municipal Code of Ordinances: Supervisor Meis
motioned to approve the adoption of the Town of Dewey Municipal Code of Ordinances to go into effect
November 1, 2025. Chairman King seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Discussion/Action on sale of the Sterling truck and equipment: Chairman King reported that after
reviewing several options, Wisconsin Surplus Online Auction offers the easiest and free listing process
for the town’s Sterling truck and equipment.
Supervisor Meis motioned to approve listing the Sterling truck and equipment on Wisconsin Surplus
with a minimum bid of $20,000, and if it doesn’t sell within two weeks, to relist at $15,000. Chairman
King seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Discussion/Action on LRIP Program application (TRI portion) for 2026-2027 program cycle: Chairman
King reviewed the Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP), which provides funding for town road
projects on a rotating basis. Since the town received funding two cycles ago and will not rank within the
top eight this time, the board agreed it would not be worthwhile to apply.
Supervisor Meis motioned not to apply for the LRIP (TRI portion) for the 2026–2027 program cycle.
Chairman King seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Update on sand/salt containment: Supervisor Meis reported that Irv Wachowiak is willing to assist with
the project. Chairman King suggested the containment be built large enough to hold 54 yards and
recommended coordinating Irv Wachowiak with the town employees.
Update on Public Access property on Bay View Drive: Chairman King reported that an attorney assisting
the town sent a certified letter to two property owners regarding encroachments on the Bay View
Estates public access, where a dock and other items had been placed that interfere with public access to
the lot. All items are to be removed by October 1, 2025.
Discussion/Action on Operator licenses: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the operator license
application for Autumn Ashton as presented. Chairman King seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Discussion/Action on bids for road work on Willow Springs Drive: The board reviewed bids for the
Willow Springs Drive reconstruction project, including pulverizing and relaying pavement and adding
compacted road base from Dewey Drive south for approximately 5,386 feet.
Chairman King motioned to accept the low bid from Stuczynski Trucking & Excavating, Inc. at a cost of
$67,480.00. Supervisor Meis seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Clerk/Treasurer Reports for August: The board reviewed the Clerk and Treasurer reports for August,
noting that the reports balanced.
Supervisor Meis motioned to accept the Clerk and Treasurer reports as presented. Chairman King
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported that town employees have
completed crack sealing. They have also been grading, and brush cutting. Granite was hauled and placed
on Birch Drive from Haymeadow Drive to the culverts installed two years ago. A culvert on Torun Road
that had water running across the road was cleaned out and is flowing; further cleaning will be done
once the water level goes down. The DNR has installed fire signs in the parking lots.
Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.
Meeting Dates & Agendas: Upcoming Town meetings will be held at the Town of Dewey Town Hall on:
• Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. – Town Board meeting
• Wednesday, October 22, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. – Town Board meeting to work on the Town Budget
• Wednesday, November 19, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. – Public Hearing on the 2026 Budget, followed by a
Special Town Meeting of the Electors, and then a Town Board meeting
Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve and pay the bills as presented. Chairman
King seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 7:14 p.m.
