Brooklyn Plan Commission Meeting - February 5, 2026
MINUTES
Members present: Mike Jankowski, Mark Lindquist, Tom Penfield,
Glenn Schapfel, Don Strobel, Kurt Wilkens, Sue McConnell
Meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m.
It was noted that the meeting time & date had been printed in the local newspaper & posted at
the Town Hall building notice board.
Minutes of the November 6, 2025 meeting were approved. (Zone change for Noah Polcyn)
The business of the meeting involved discussion and action in regard to the zoning change
request from John R. Witte.
The parcel is #004004260000, located on the north side of Princeton Road in the Town of
Brooklyn. Part of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 18 Town 16 North, Range 13 East.
Request is to rezone 12.802 acres from a larger A-1 parcel of 27.2 acres. The 12.802 acres
would be separated into 4 smaller parcels of roughly 3 acres, to be rezoned to R4. The lots
would be sold for rural residential development.
The land is wooded & farm field. The soil is sandy and not very productive. The wooded area
would be the 4 parcels rezoned. This parcel has not been farmed in the recent past.
Two of the lots would front on Princeton Road. An access road would be created on the west
edge of the parcel to access the two remaining lots, which would be stacked one atop the
other to the north.
The owner, J. Witte will retain ownership of the remaining acres to the west and north (roughly
15 acres). There is access to the balance of the parcel from Northwest Road, to the north.
The Committee determined that the rezone request does not present any irregularities and will
conform to current GL County Standards. The R-4 designation is appropriate for this request.
The request was approved on a unanimous vote, motion to approve by Mark Lindquist, 2nd by
Kurt Wilkens.
The request will be forwarded to the Town Board for the February 10, 2026 meeting with the
recommendation to approve.
The committee reviewed information from the Ad Hoc Committee meeting with the City of
Green Lake, which was held on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
