4. Monthly Financial Report:
a. Amanda Toney – We are working with the County Treasurer to receive funds from a handful of tax
payments that were returned due to insufficient funds. Once those are resolved the transfer of the
tax funds into the general checking account will be done as one transaction.
b. Amy Wesenberg – The problems with the Spectrum bill are now resolved. In-Person Absentee
Voting will be March 18–28 during office hours or by appointment.
5. Library Report – Christina Lyon, Director: Report was received and read.
6. Building Inspector’s Report: Report was received and read.
7. Fire Commission Report – Ron Triemstra: There were a number of promotions, two new volunteers joined,
and there were a number of incidents and vacations that led to staffing shortages during the month. There
was a purchase of an ultrasound tool to assist with determining if a pulseless victim still has electrical activity
in the heart to determine if continued resuscitation should be continued.
8. County Board Supervisor Report – Harley Reabe: At the February 11th meeting an interim County
administrator was appointed. There were two re-zones done in the Town of Marquette, and there was an
update to chapter 50 of the county zoning ordinance. There was a special meeting held on February 20th to
discuss the Bug Tussle broadband application to the state to bring service to the area.
9. Chairperson Report:
a. Road Report – Mike Wuest: There will tree trimming done on South Lawson, Irving Park, and Belle
Mapps to address dead trees that need to come down.
10. Supervisor Reports
a. Recycling Report – Harley Reabe: February had a little over 10 ton of recycling. The recycling grant
is being taken processed.
b. Sanitary District Report – Kristin Radtke: Regarding the McAfee Road sewer extension - it has been
expanded to include another parcel at the owner’s request, which will reduce overall cost per
landowner. Regarding the Area 9 sewer extension - there was a discussion with the District’s legal
counsel regarding municipal boundaries and the annexation process. At least 50% of t own residents
who are contiguous to the project will need to petition the city for annexation. It was also noted the
Town was not likely to relinquish those parcels and there are documents in place to protect the Town.
There is some difficulty in moving forward with the project due to connecting with owner’s who are only
here seasonally. Regarding the wastewater facility upgrades – per Lisa Reas, while full funding was
achieved, due to the scheduling and the timeline there will need to be some short -term borrowing.
c. Plan Commission Report – Sue McConnell: Absent - no report.
11. Next Town Board Meeting will be April 8th, 2025, 6:00 P.M. Meeting adjourned at 6:40p.m.
