August 13, 2025 Town of Dewey Board Meeting Note: These are the proposed Minutes that will be approved at the next Board meeting. ___________________________________________________________________________ Minutes Wednesday, August 13, 2025 430 Dewey Drive-Stevens Point WI 54482 Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: The open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor LeRoy Pukrop, Supervisor Dennis Meis, Clerk Angela Lochinger, and Treasurer Lori Kolodziej were present. 2 town resident and/or visitors were present. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:00 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Approval of Minutes from the meeting of July 30, 2025: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the minutes of July 30, 2025, as presented. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: Dennis Hintz asked about the truck warranty, the tractor vandalism claim, and the Torun Road project bid. Doug Evica asked about the tractor vandalism location, and upcoming road work on Dewey Drive and Willow Springs Drive. Supervisor Comments/Concerns: Supervisor Meis discussed options for a sand/salt containment project, noting Irv Wachowiak could assist with the work. He also reported attending Farm Progress Days and gathering information on selling the Sterling truck. Discussion/Action on Fee Schedule update (Grader Operator): Chairman King noted that Ken Hintz, the town’s grader operator, is only used occasionally since a full-time employee normally does the road grading, but he may be needed for the upcoming granite project on Birch Drive to help speed up hauling with three trucks instead of two. King suggested raising his wage from $21 to $25 per hour, consistent with snow plow driver pay. Supervisor Meis motioned to raise the pay for grader operator to $25 an hour. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Clerk/Treasurer Reports for July: The board reviewed the Clerk and Treasurer reports for July, noting that the reports balanced. Supervisor Pukrop motioned to accept the Clerk and Treasurer reports as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported dog kennel licensing is complete. Town employees finished granite work on Goldenrod Lane, are cutting shoulders, and have been working on culverts and ditching, including Hidden Lane, Blackbird Lane/Sunset Drive, and County Hwy X/Bluejay Lane. Blacktop cuts have been made on Scenic Drive, Sunset Drive North, and Maple Drive, which will be patched by the town. A used trailer was purchased for $1,600. Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence. Meeting Dates & Agendas: Upcoming Town Board meetings will be held at the Town of Dewey Town Hall on: • Wednesday, August 27, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. – Includes discussion with landowners in the Willow Springs Drive project area. • Thursday, September 11, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. • Wednesday, September 24, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. – Includes meeting with Cedar Corp and landowners in the Dewey Drive project area to discuss the engineering contract and upcoming survey work. Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Pukrop motioned to approve and pay the bills as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 6:41 p.m.
