Town Board Meeting/ Budget Work Session Minutes – APPROVED Date: Tuesday, September 18, 2026 Time: 8:30 a.m. Location: 2800 Ward Ave, La Crosse, WI 54601 Present: Chairperson Tim Candahl, Supervisors Marlene Heal, Tim Ehler (8:35 am) and Tim Padesky; Administrator Christina Peterson, Treasurer Melissa Erdman. Excused/Absent: Clerk Fortune Berg, Supervisor Renee Knutson. Attendance List: Joe Hauser (N2095 County Road F) and Tim Buisman (W4896 CTH FO) . 1. Meeting called to order by Candahl at 8:30 a.m. 2. Minutes from 09/01/2026. Motion by Heal to approve minutes from 09/01/2026, second by Padesky. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Bills Payable. Motion by Padesky to accept closed invoices for $44,247.21, second by Heal. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Padesky to pay open invoices for $137,484.16, second by Heal. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Treasurer’s Report. Erdman reported 5. Public Comment. Joe Hauser (N2095 County Road F) and Tim Buisman (W4896 CTH FO) had questions about the Featherstone Rise Development septic tanks and retention ponds. 6. Plow Truck Quotes – Chassis Delivery 2027. Presented by Christina Peterson on the truck as a replacement for the oldest truck. Motion by Padesky to approve Debauche proposal, second by Ehler. Motion carried unanimously. 7. Tax Overpayment – Gerald Kendhammer. Motion by Padesky to approve refund of tax overpayments, second by Ehler. Motion carried unanimously. 8. Crown Blvd Design Proposal. Presented by Peterson. Motion by Padesky to approve Paragon Bid, second by Heal. Motion carried unanimously. 9. Old Town Hall Road Rebuild – Gerke Excavating Pay Request #2 and #3. Peterson presented. The project is complete. Motion by Heal to approve the pay requests, second by Padesky. Motion carried unanimously. 10. Coulee Avenue Building. a. Floor Plan. Presented by Peterson. No action. b. Easement on 11-01447-001. Presented by Peterson. No action. c. First Right of Refusal for 11-01447-001 and 11-01447-002. Presented by Peterson. No action. d. Structural Design Proposal – Roof Reinforcement. Presented by Peterson. No action. 11. Preliminary 2027 General Fund Budget. Presented by Peterson. No action. 12. Staffing and Compensation. Presented by Peterson. Motion by Padesky to approve the memo on compensation, second by Ehler. Motion carried unanimously. 13. Administrator and Public Works Report. Peterson reported a. The new intern started on 9/14/26. His name is Cole Hall. He will be in the office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. b. Security cameras will be installed in the next couple of weeks. c. Ribbon cutting will be on Thurs Oct 15 @ 11 am 14. Chairperson and Supervisors Report. a. Candahl reported Hagen Road markings are being investigated. LAPC may have funding for this project as well. b. HWY GI project is almost complete. c. An inquiry for a streetlight at HWY GI and County Road K was submitted. 15. Adjournment.
