VETERANS COMMISSION Douglas County Board of Supervisors Thursday, September 17, 2026, 1:00 p.m., Government Center, Boardroom 201 | 1316 North 14th Street, Superior, Wisconsin Meeting called to order by Chair Bill Fennessey at 1:00 p.m. 1. ROLL CALL Present – Bill Fennessey, Howard Hendrickson, Butch Liebaert, Amy Ribaudo. Others Present – Mark Liebaert, Erick Hudson, Lindsey Conley (Committee Clerk). 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by B. Liebaert, second Hendrickson, to approve minutes from January 21, 2026. Motion carried. 3. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS a. 2026 Detailed Spending Report: Distributed spending report for January through June 2026 at meeting. Requests for funding have been more frequent and higher amounts. Funding had been previously capped at $800, requests have been granted for amounts over cap for mortgage, utilities, and rent assistance. Spending has increased and has almost reached budget of previous year. b. 2027 Budget and Outreach Plans: 2027 budget has been referred to Administration Committee and County Board for final approval. Capital project to improve office spaces in Veteran’s office. Hudson discussed outreach with local corporations. c. 2027 Meeting Schedule: Thursday, January 21, 2027, 1 p.m. 4.
