APPROVAL OF MAY 13, 2026, TOWN BOARD MINUTES: M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve May 13, 2026, town board minutes. M/C Ayes = 3 APPROVAL OF THE OPEN BOOK AND BOARD OF REVIEW MINUTES: M/S by Trzebiatowski/ Lutz to approve May 13, 2026, Open book and May 20, 2026, Board of Review minutes. M/C Aye =3 PUBLIC INPUT: None PLAN COMMISSION REPORT: 1.) Reviewed lot splits for Blenker Properties and Richard & Simon Hollin, which Plan Commission recommends approval. 2.) Reviewed lot split, Comprehensive Plan change and Zoning change for Jason Sopa. Recommended to start process for Public Hearing. BLENKER PROPERTIES - LOT SPLIT – YELLOW BRICK ROAD, PARCEL# 006-23-1015-15.19: M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve lot split for Blenker Properties. M/C Ayes = 3. RICHARD & SIMONE HOLLIN - LOT SPLIT - 9555 SUMAC CIRCLE, PARCEL# 006-55-1601: M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve lot split for Richard & Simone Hollin. M/C Ayes = 3. JASON SOPA – LOT SPLIT AND REZONING -9787 COUNTY ROAD KK, PARCEL# 006-23-1021-12.12: M/S Lutz/Trzebiatowski to start process with Public Hearing for lot split and zoning change. M/C Ayes = 3. Due to the timing of the 30-day notice that needs to be published for a public hearing, it would not be possible to hold the public hearing at the July 8, 2026, town meeting. Sopa has asked to have a Special Town Board meeting and agreed to pay the $175 fee. FIRE & SAFTEY REPORT: Representative Brent Holderman was present at meeting. There was a discussion on rebuilding of the Fire Tendor. Town Board asked for more information. REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING TOWN OF AMHERST PAGE 2 OF 3 GROUNDWATER REPORT: Brenna Olson presented Groundwater Representative Gary Rzentkowski’s notes and read the May 21, 2026, meeting notes. GEC CONTRACT – DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION: Spierings read the proposed contract over at an earlier date. Spierings saw no concerns. M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve the draft of the building inspection services and to continue the process of receiving a contract from GEC. M/C Ayes = 3 Current Building Inspector, Mike Bembenk will be contacted. ALCOHOL/OPERATOR/CIGARETTE LICENSES: All forms were reviewed by Chairman Spierings before the town meeting to save on time. M/S Lutz/Trzebiatowski to accept all alcohol, operator and cigarette licenses for the listings shown below. M/C Ayes = 3 Class A Beer/liquor license, cigarette license and operator licenses to Dollar General. Class B Beer/liquor license and operator licenses to Whitetail Lanes. Class A Beer/liquor license, cigarette, and operator licenses to Tomorrow River BP. Class B Beer/liquor license and operator licenses to Bootleggers. Temporary license for Portage County Fair Association and operator license for Karen Stuczynski. TIPPING FEE INCREASE FOR PORTAGE COUNTY SOLID WASTE: Reviewed and discussed. LOAN – BORROWING $400,000 FOR ASPHALTING TOWN ROADS (FLOISTAD, BESTUL, LAKE AND PAVELSKI): Spierings investigated CoVantage and International Bank of Amherst. CoVantage interest is 5% and IBA’s interest is 4.75%. M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to borrow $400,000 from IBA for 4.75% for 5 years for roads. M/C Ayes = 3 ROAD REPORT: 1.) Road Supervisor Trzebiatowski hired Academy Plus at $175/hr to clean up Old Hwy 18 (Kjer Ward to Lake Rd) from the ice storm. The town must stop the work from going further because the town cannot afford to do more. 2.) Floistad Rd. is done with asphalting. 3.) Grass on roadsides will start getting cut at the end of the month. BUILDING INSPECTION, ZONING PERMIT REPORT: 1.) Jim Trzinski TOWN EMPLOYEES WAGE REVIEW – POSSIBLE ACTION TAKEN: The town hired Eric Osgood and Brent Holderman to help with road maintenance. Eric, Brent and employee Jacob Derezinski will get paid $20/hr. REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING TOWN OF AMHERST PAGE 3 OF 3 Discussion on a 9 Point Test (Workers Comp Insurance) for employees that perform labor using their own shop and charging independent contractor fees. TOWN HALL REPORT: None TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Rogers read report. Town Balance is $317,951.65. The New Building/Road Repair Loan - $225,718.54 PAYMENT OF BILLS: Reviewed BUDGET REPORT: Reviewed CORRESPONDENCE: None AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH: 1.)
