Town of River Falls Cemetery Committee Minutes February 19, 2026 Attending: Garrett Gill, Scott Jenson, Peggy Jenson, Jerome Rodewald Guest: Don Rodewald 1) Call to order—6:38PM 2) Motion to approve agenda Scott/Garrett -Motion Carried 3) GLASS VALLEY Reviewed copies of updated Plot Map and Plot sales since Last meeting Garrett indicated that the scale of the map was designed for 11X17” printing. 4) Mt. ZION Jerome and Don met with Pierce County Surveyor Louie Filkins to find NE Corner of Section 24, T27W, R18W. The corner is 50 feet South of the end of the Town road (730St) near a large clump of trees. Land owner Harold Pruit (now deceased) previously indicated that Martell abandoned the ROW (Right of Way) on the East side of Mt. Zion. The Town of Martell Clerk is reviewing their records to see if they can confirm the ROW was abandoned properly. Martell should not have abandoned the ROW if it landlocked the Cemetery. 1) The best access to Mt. Zion is along the previous Martell ROW (Right of Way) 2) Landowner Mark Gehl has a ROW from Pruitt for the 50 feet from the end of the Town Road (730ST) to the Corner of Section 24 but the wording on that ROW states it is for his exclusive use only. If we want to access through Mark Gehl property, we need a legal opinion whether Gehl can allow River Falls to use that ROW. The reason access to Mt. Zion was not an issue until the 1980’s is that the land on either side of 730St was owned by the Robey and Dopkins families and both had ancestors buried there. 5) Future agenda items should include progress on Thomas Walker grave upgrade a. Future meeting date of 4/16/2026 may need to be adjusted for Scott and Peggy’s vacation dates 4/12-4/27. 6) Adjourn M/S Peggy-Garrett 7:30PM Minutes by Jerome
