Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:30 pm. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited.
Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice
King, Supervisor Dennis Hintz, Supervisor LeRoy Pukrop, Clerk Angela Lochinger, and Treasurer
Lori Kolodziej were present. 3 town residents and/or visitors were present.
Approval of Minutes from the meeting of January 15, 2025 and February 5, 2025: Supervisor
Pukrop motioned to approve the minutes of January 15, 2025, as presented. Supervisor Hintz
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the minutes of February 5, 2025, as presented.
Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: Tim Pazdra asked about the town’s building
permitting process and had zoning questions.
Supervisor Comments/Concerns: Supervisor Hintz discussed snow plowing concerns and asked
about parts needed for the new truck.
Supervisor Pukrop mentioned phone calls he received regarding sand/salt mixture on Sunset
Drive.
Continue the review updates to town’s insurance coverage: The board continued reviewing the
town’s insurance coverage and worked on determining current values for vehicles and
equipment.
Discussion on bids documents for Torun Road reconstruction project: Chairman King provided
the board with bid documents to review and discuss for the LRIP project, which requests bids
for the following work:
1. Paving of Torun Road – Starting at Dewey Drive and extending south for approximately
7,075 feet.
2. Shouldering of Torun Road – Starting at Dewey Drive and extending south for
approximately 7,075 feet.
Discussion/Action on Resolution No.1 - 2025, a resolution to authorize the posting of weight
limits on town roads: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve Resolution No.1 -2025, a
resolution to authorize the posting of weight limits on town roads. Supervisor Pukrop
seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Update on delivery of the new town truck: Chairman King reported the truck has been
delivered, and the town employees replaced the original cutting edges with higher-quality ones
from the Sterling truck. A piece of molding on the passenger side was loose while driving, so it
was taken to the International garage for securing. Additionally, employees reported an issue
with fuel spilling when refueling, which Chairman King will follow up on. Lastly, a loose front
cable required attention and was taken to Monroe for inspection.
Discussion on the placement of guardrails by culvert on Dewey Drive approximately a ¼ of a
mile west of Torun Road: Chairman King and Supervisor Hintz received a request from a
resident to install guardrails near the culvert on Dewey Drive, about ¼ mile west of Torun Road.
The board discussed the request, considering factors like past accidents and potential costs.
Discussion/Action regarding the sale of the 2000 Sterling truck: The board discussed options for
selling the town’s Sterling truck. No action was taken, as further research is needed on where to
list it for sale.
Clerk/Treasurer Reports: The board reviewed the Clerk and Treasurer reports for January,
noting that the reports balanced.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to accept the Clerk and Treasurer reports as presented with an
update to the ARPA CD amount. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported that the Portage
County Solid Waste Department has seen less garbage in the recycling bins. He met with the
town’s attorney to discuss ordinance updates. Town employees have been doing inventory,
cleaning the garage, cutting brush, filling a dip on Sunset Drive, plowing snow, and applying
sand/salt as needed. Eagle Tree Care LLC removed four dying oak trees at the corner of Sunset
Drive and Maple Drive. He also discussed the need to survey Bay View Estates subdivision to
relocate the pins.
Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.
Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
March 12, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dewey Town Hall.
Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve and pay the bills as presented.
Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 7:59 pm.
