Cemetery Committee — Minutes

Minutes July 24, 2024 Village of Linden Cemetery Committee Meeting Minutes Meeting was called to order at 7:32 am Committee Members, Bob Spurley and Stephen Troester were present Randy Kitelinger from the Village Public Works attended the meeting 1. Review and identify Stones for straightening 31 headstones on the west side of the Cemetery were identified and marked to be straightened in 2024 The Committee wants a public notice made when the stones are scheduled to be straightend so family members who might want their loved ones stones straightened can come and have it done while the workman are straightening the ones the Committee has identified for straightening. 2. 2025 Budget Proposal The Committee proposes that $2500 be budgeted in the 2025 Village budget for Cemetery stone straightening. Randy mentioned that it takes 22 manhours (6 mowing, 16 string trimming) a week for the Village Public Works guys to mow and string trim the Cemetery. The Village could save some money if another source was found to take care of the grounds keeping. Mowers would need to be insured; string trimmers would not need to be insured. Stephen said he has some boys that might be interested in the job next summer 3. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 8:05 am Minutes compiled and presented by: Stephen M.
