Town Board — Minutes

Town of Exeter Regular Board Meeting Monday, December 9, 2024 – 7:00PM Ted Fahey, Mark Gundlach, Kent Brauer, and Clerk Sass were present. Town members: Burt Boldebuck, Siegfried Eckhardt (Siggy), Dale Gutman, Lyndon Hessling Notice legally posted. Minutes: The minutes from November 11, 2024, regular meeting presented. Motion to approve November 11, 2024, regular meeting minutes (MG/KB), all in favor, approved. Treasurer Report: Dawn summarizes balance as of November 30, 2024: $276,800.85. ARPA funds gained $477.22 in interest. The balance is now $121,086.91. Motion to approve treasurer report (MG/KB), all in favor, approved. Announcements: Town Hall received several Holiday cards. Pelliterri sent a reminder to make sure the tops of the trash/recycle containers are cleared of snow. Town Hall has new toilets and faucets in the bathrooms and a new pressure tank for the well. Supervisor report: Ted – St. Mary’s Hall and Church might be sold so we will have to look for a new place for future elections. Nothing else to report. Kent – Senior Center had their Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 7, 2024, a successful event. Mark -Nothing. Citizen Input: Siggi - Verizon purchased Frontier but deal will not be completed until early next year. Verizon has committed to taking on the broadband Frontier committed to. Committee Reports: Mark – Christmas Tree lighting last night, very successful, about 80 people attended (lots of kids). Hot chocolate was served. Ted used his lift to help get the lights on the large pine tree with help from Kent and Mark. There were 2,200 lights placed on the tree. There will be no park committee meeting in January or February. Unfinished: None. New Business: • Bills – Motion to pay bills (MG/KB), all in favor, approved. • Closed session to discuss employee benefits. Motion to go into closed session (KB/MG), all in favor, approved. Closed session – 7:12PM Motion to end closed session and go back into public meeting, (MG/KB), all in favor, approved. Closed session ends 7:34PM. Motion to pay Health Insurance for clerk of $221.00/month, (KB/MG), all in favor, approved. The clerk has not used the township for insurance since she was hired in October 2018.
