Special Town Board Meeting — Minutes

TOWN OF NEW GLARUS Special Town Board Meeting, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 1:00 PM Town Garage, N8799 Hayes Lane, New Glarus, WI Members in attendance: Chair Chris Narveson, Supervisor Mark Pernitz, Clerk- Treasurer Darla Kramer, (Absent: Supervisor Troy Pauli, Supervisor Dan Garzke) Absent: Supervisor Matt StreiƯ Others in attendance: Rob Ready, Judith Blank, Todd Kuehl, Dan Bubolz, Susan Crum, and Sara Evanson 1. Chair Narveson called the meeting to order at 01:01 pm. 2. Clerk Darla Kramer attested to the Proof of Posting on 06-30-2026 at the Town Garage, the Bank of New Glarus, and the New Glarus Post OƯice. Posted to the website on 06-30-2026. 3. Public Comments: Electors presented concerns regarding a special meeting, time of day and agendas are not posted in a timely nature. There was also discussion on purchasing a tandem truck single axle for the patrolman. 4. Polling place resolution was signed, which moves the election in August to N8799 Hayes Lane Motion made by Supervisor Pernitz to approve. Seconded by Supervisor Pauli. All were in favor. Motion carried. 5. Discussion on site work changes, additional curb, potential storm sewer and gravel road around the shop. Will revisit for further discussion on July 8th Town Board Meeting. 6. Discussion on truck chassis quote. The international is 20 years old. If a four-wheel drive is purchases, that would cost 40 to 60,000 more. Will revisit for further discussion on July 8th Town Board Meeting. 7. Seamless Gutters quote – Using Seamless Gutters is cheaper than Cleary’s quote for $3500. Motion made by Supervisor Pernitz to approve the quote. Seconded by Supervisor Gartzke. All were in favor. Motion carried. 8. Discussion on adding additional concrete pads around the New Town Garage – The original plan was for 10-foot concrete pads around the garage. It was estimated it would cost roughly an additional $10,000 to change the pads to 20 feet. Hilliard will be in early next week to pour pads around the doors. Motion made by Supervisor Pernitz to approve the additional feet added to the concrete pads and approval of the storm sewer design (contingent upon price). Seconded by Supervisor Pauli. All were in favor. Motion carried. 9. Discussion on Pressure Washer for the shop - Will revisit for further discussion on July 8th Town Board Meeting. 10. Cleary will be installing locking closet doors in the shop for the election equipment. 11. Motion made by Supervisor Pernitz to adjourn the meeting at 01:35 pm. Seconded by Supervisor Pauli.
