Public Comments: John and Aleta Martinson asked the board for consideration to change the speed limit on Valley View Rd. Currently there are sections of the road at 35 miles per hour. There is an extra lane on the shoulder of the road for a bike lane. There is no signage posted until you get to Edelweiss. Supervisor Pernitz suggested posting another sign just south of Edelweiss. 5. Patrolman Report – Ron has been burning all brush piles and has completed that. He has started mowing ditch lines with the county’s batwing tractor for the first round. Working on equipment in the shop. They are coming next week to pull the transfer case. International auger working for shouldering. He was questioned on chip sealing Klitzke Road. Informed the resident that you must chip seal to maintain the integrity of the road. Had problems chip sealing Blue Vista on Tuesday. They got it figured out. Needed a diƯerent volume of oil, as using dark granite chips. Can’t use wet chips for seal coating. 6. Building Inspector Report Presented 7. Discussion on speed limits on town roads – Discussed the possibility of reducing speed limits on all town roads to 45 miles per hour. A sign would have to be placed before all intersections. Will have the patrolman figure out how many new signs would be needed. Will revisit next month. 8. Received an additional bid for town garage cameras. Quote was received from Associated Technical Services for $20,972.36. This is higher than the original quote received from TCnetworks for $17,384.82. Will wait for all board members to be present to make a decision on cameras. 9. Discussion on moving the election polling place in August to N8799 Hayes Lane (New Town Garage). Will talk to Cleary and the building inspector to see if this is possible. Will have a special meeting within the next two weeks. 10. Discussion on amending the shipping container ordinance. A revised copy was presented. Will wait until all board members are present to approve the ordinance. 11. Discussed ditching on Marty Road. Supervisor StreiƯ stated he did not want the county to complete the ditching. Ditching will wait until fall and all crops have been removed. 12. Presented the Alliant Energy invoice of $10,141.30 to run electric to the new town garage. Motion made by Supervisor Pernitz to approve the invoice. Seconded by Supervisor StreiƯ. All were in favor. Motion carried. 13. Seamless Gutters Estimate presented. Cleary bid included gutters on the front only. Discussed pulling the gutters out of Cleary’s package and have Seamless Gutters do the whole building. The way Cleary bid the gutter system would not handle a big rainfall. Ron feels rather than have gutters run both to one end, they should come to the middle and then pipe out underground. Will review when all board members are present. 14. Discussion on ordering a future plow truck. Our current trucks are set up for salt. Chair Narveson is looking at a Tandem Axle truck, in which they could use brine. That would reduce salt by 50%. If we ordered a truck now, they are 18 months out. 15. The EMS Innovation Grant Addendum was presented – All parties involved have signed and this has been added to the grant application. 16. The clerk’s oƯice location was discussed. It was decided the clerk would move to the new town garage when it is completed. This would allow for meetings, elections, permits and all other business to take place at the same location. 17.
