Park Commission Meeting — Minutes

Town of New Glarus PARK COMMISSION MEETING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21ST 2026 MINUTES Held at Chalet Landhaus, 801 WI Hwy 69, Conference Room, 2nd Floor, New Glarus, WI Park Commission Members in Attendance: Mona Sue French, Harry Pulliam, Kelly Ruschman, Jason Neton, and Rose Pertzborn Park Commission Members Not in Attendance: Chris Narveson and Mark Pernitz Public in attendance: Rob Ready, Drew Delforge, Lynn Paron, Bill French, and Todd Kuehl. 1. Harry Pullian called the meeting to order at 06:02PM. 2. Clerk attested to proper proof of posting and publishing. 3. A motion was made by Mona Sue French to approve the meeting minutes from December 17th, 2025. The motion was seconded by Kelly Ruschman. Motion carried by unanimous verbal vote. 4. Public Time – Rob Ready questioned the financing for Legacy Parks and the potential town hall. Drew Delforge asked about the Town Hall Grant. 5. The presentation by Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy was cancelled. 6. Jason Neton let the board know that the trees for the tree sale were ordered on January 20th, 2026. It will be 250-260 trees. 7. No updates on Portable Restroom at Legacy Prairie Park. 8. Steve is working well with Jason Neton on the prairie efforts. Seeding is underway. 9. Town Hall Discussion was postponed to next meeting. 10. Recreational trail grant is due March 1st. There is a lot of materials required. 11. Quotes Mark Pernitz received were too high, but Kelly Ruschman may know someone who can help with signage at Legacy Park. 12. Jason Neton is continuing to recruit people for the Meeting of Friends of New Glarus Parks organization. Rose found someone interested in joining. A notice will be posted on the website to recruit more people. 13. Conservation easement discussion postponed to next meeting. 14. Discussion about Leib Logging purchasing trees from the park postponed to next meeting for when more members can review 15. Review of 2026 Budget postponed to next meeting for when more members can review. 16. Next Meeting Scheduled for February 18th, 2026, at 6:00pm. (Harry Pulliam cannot attend) 17.
