Parks Commission Meeting — Minutes

Town of New Glarus PARK COMMISSION MEETING WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH 2025 MINUTES Held at Chalet Landhaus, 801 WI Hwy 69, Conference Room, 2nd Floor, New Glarus, WI Park Commission Members in Attendance: Kelly Ruschman, Mona Sue French, Harry Pulliam, Jason Neton, and Rose Pertzborn. Also in Attendance: Deputy Clerk Darla Kramer Park Commission Members Not in Attendance: Chris Narveson and Mark Pernitz 1. Kelly Ruschman called the park commission meeting to order at 06:04pm. 2. Proof of posting – Deputy Clerk Kramer attested to the proper proof of posting (November 18th, 2025). 3. Motion made by Mona Sue French to approve meeting minutes from October 15, 2025. Seconded by Kelly Ruschman. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 4. Motion made by Kelly Ruschman to approve meeting minutes from October 24th, 2025. Seconded by Mona Sue French. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 5. Motion made by Kelly Ruschman to approve meeting minutes from October 27th, 2025. Seconded by Jason Neton. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 6. Frank Grenzow asked for the commission to review his suggestion for a conservation easement, and it was tabled for the next meeting. 7. Motion was made by Jason Neton to amend the cost of the tree sale mailers that were sent to the public on 11-15-2025. Seconded by Rose Pertzborn. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 8. Discussion on Legacy Prairie Park’s prairie restoration and trail work led a decision on funding to be tabled for the next meeting. No motions made. 9. Discussion on Preparation of Cross Country Trails. No motions made. 10. Discussion on potential contract for mowing at Legacy Prairie Park. No motions made. 11. Discussion on Cheryl Housley of the DNR’s visit to Legacy Prairie Park. No motions made. 12. Discussion of work done at Bluebird Ridge Conservatory. Jason will reach out to maintenance to address safety concerns and forestry solutions. No motions made. 13. Discussion about application of grant for town hall/community center being submitted. No motions made. 14. Discussion on recreational trail grants. May apply for grants in March and May of 2026. No motions made. 15. Discussion on the Meeting of Friends of New Glarus Parks. Legal arrangements need to be completed. Potential leadership roll to be filled for organizing. No motions made. 16. Discussion of signage in Legacy Prairie Park. Decisions will be made later regarding names and signage. No motions made. 17. Discussion on the preparation of a 2026 budget. Possibility of purchasing a portable restroom instead of renting one. 18. Next meeting scheduled for 06:00PM on December 17th, 2025. 19.
