Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:07 PM, immediately following the
Public Hearing and Special Town Meeting of the Electors. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King,
Supervisor Dennis Hintz, Supervisor LeRoy Pukrop, Clerk Angela Lochinger, and Treasurer Lori Kolodziej
were present. 0 town residents and/or visitors were present.
Approval of Minutes from the meetings of October 16, 2024, October 23, 2024 and October 30, 2024:
Supervisor Pukrop motioned to approve the minutes of October 16, 2024, as presented. Supervisor
Hintz seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the minutes of October 23, 2024, as presented. Supervisor
Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Supervisor Pukrop motioned to approve the minutes of October 30, 2024, as presented. Supervisor
Hintz seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: None
Supervisor Comments/Concerns: Supervisor Hintz discussed which portion of the town he will be
plowing this winter.
Town of Dewey 2025 Budget: Supervisor Pukrop motioned to adopt the 2025 Budget for the Town of
Dewey as presented. Supervisor Hintz seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
2025 license for Crocker’s Landing Mobile Home Park: Following a discussion regarding the prompt
payments received from Crocker’s Landing Mobile Home Park throughout 2024, Supervisor Hintz
motioned to approve the mobile home license for Crocker’s Landing for 2025. Supervisor Pukrop
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Resolution No.3 – 2024, a resolution to designate snowmobile routes on town roads: Following a
discussion confirming that the snowmobile route remains unchanged from last year, Supervisor Hintz
motioned to approve Resolution No. 3 – 2024, a resolution to designate snowmobile routes on town
roads. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Resolution No.4 – 2024, a resolution to amend the Town’s 2024 Budget: The board discussed the need
to amend the 2024 budget to utilize additional income from the general fund (interest and FD
donations) to provide sufficient funds for the following budget classifications: General Government,
Public Safety, Health & Human Services, and Culture, Recreation & Education.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve Resolution No. 4-2024, a resolution to amend the Town’s 2024
Budget as presented. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Update on Torun Road project: Chairman King reported that Worden Enterprises has started work on
Torun Road, installing two new culverts and working on a third. Additional roadwork may be necessary
next spring after further inspection following the winter season.
Clerk/Treasurer Reports for October: The board reviewed the Clerk and Treasurer reports for October,
noting that the reports balanced.
Supervisor Pukrop motioned to accept the Clerk and Treasurer reports as presented. Supervisor Hintz
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported that he has been working on
updating the town ordinances. The current owner of the property for sale at the intersection of I-39 and
County Road DB confirmed it will not be sold to the County to provide housing to for Sexually Violent
Persons, alleviating previous concerns. The town received notice from the Portage County Solid Waste
Department that garbage is being found in the town’s recycling bins, resulting in the town being fined
for contamination. Chairman King also provided a 2024 Road Work Report, noting that surface road
work reports have been sent to the state. The tractor radiator was repaired but continues to leak, and
new hoses will be installed. Recent work included installing a culvert on Oriole Lane, completing ditching
on Birch Drive, grading and patching, and installing snow fencing poles. On Torun Road, brushing was
done, and new signs and mailboxes were installed to widen the road for the roadwork project. The
culvert inventory has been completed, and two new doors were installed on the town garage. Lastly,
Chairman King noted that he is still investigating fire department coverage for private vehicles used for
town business.
Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.
Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, December
11, 2024 (to work on the Hazard Mitigation Plan), and Wednesday, December 18, 2024, both at 6:30
p.m. at the Dewey Town Hall.
Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve and pay the bills as presented. Supervisor
Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 7:10 pm.
