10.06.2026 Waterloo Utilities Meeting Minutes

Regular meeting of the Waterloo Water & Light Commission held October 6, 2026 Meeting called to order by President Schumann at 7:00pm at the Waterloo Utilities office. Present were Commissioners Pam Kuhl, Michael Tschanz, Richard Weihert, Superintendent Barry Sorenson, Office Manager Joy Bisco, Ben Heidemann and Lisa Twarog Town & Country Engineering, and Charlie Kuhl. Absent Vern Butzine. Minutes Motion by Tschanz, seconded by Schumann, to approve the minutes of the September 1, 2026 meeting. Motion carried. Expenditures Motion by Schumann, seconded by Kuhl, to approve the September disbursements as presented. Motion carried. Citizen Input None. Portzen Pay Request and Change Order Motion by Kuhl, seconded by Schumann, to recommend to City Council approval of the Portzen Pay Request #36 in the amount of $317,277.20 and Change Order #5 in the amount of $213,305.62. Motion carried. Close out documents for SDWF and CWF Motion by Schumann, seconded by Weihert, to recommend to City Council approval of the close out documents for SDWF and CWF loans. Motion carried. PFAS Ben updated the Commission on the PFAS at the WWTP. 2027 Budget Motion by Schumann, seconded by Weihert, to approve the 2027 budget as presented. Motion carried. General Info WWTP Open House.
