Palmyra Police & Fire Commission Minutes Thursday March 5th, 2026 Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 6:16pm by Chairman Dooley. Roll call: Stefanczyk, Bealhen, Dooley, Simmons – All Present Guests – Chief Gartzke Motion by Bealhen – second by Simmons to approve the minutes from meetings on Feb. 11th & Feb. 16th. Roll call – Bealhen, Stefanczyk, Simmons & Dooley all ayes, motion carried. Business: Discuss Police and Fire, & EMS personnel issues and candidates. Motion by Dooley second by Simmons to convene into closed session at 6:10PM with staff, pursuant to §19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically updates on Public Safety Department personnel matters. Roll call – Bealhen, Stefanczyk, Simmons & Dooley all ayes, motion carried. Motion by Dooley - second by Simmons to reconvene to open session at 6:45 PM Roll call – Bealhen, Stefanczyk, Simmons & Dooley all ayes, motion carried. Outcome of business conducted in closed session: Put candidate forward for the Village Board to hire Angie Hanson for the position of Part-time Firefighter and EMT Motion by Dooley - second by Bealhen to Adjourn meeting at 6:48 PM Roll call - All Ayes – motion carried.
