Town Board Meeting — Minutes

May 13th Minutes Town of Hiles Board Meeting Wednesday, May 13th 2026 Hiles Town Hall, Wood County Chairman Bargender called the meeting to order at 5:59pm. Present were: Chairman Rebecca Bargender, Supervisor Jeff Costigan, Supervisor Mark Gudel, Treasurer Soraya Krostag, and Clerk Cassandra Pio-Stoflet Other: The minutes of the Tuesday April 21st, 2026 Hiles Town Board meeting were presented. Moved by Supervisor Mark Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Jeff Costigan to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried. The Treasurer’s report for March was presented. Moved by Supervisor Jeff Costigan and seconded by Supervisor Mark Gudel to approve as presented. Motion carried.  Treasurer presents banking options. Board unanimously moves to change to Money Market account for regular banking and open a CD. Motion to approve $100,000.00 for CD by Mark Gudel. Seconded by Jeff Costigan. Motion passes.  2026 Road inspection was completed and is available. Motion to accept inspection by Jeff Costigan, seconded by Mark Gudel.  Ivy Dow acquisition remains on the agenda as unresolved  Town Assessor not ready for BOR; requests clerk check in in one month for possible late July BOR. o Assessor believes town tax assessment should be back in compliance by August 15  Pre-blast survey of town hall building as related to Shawn Dupee Quarry requested – chairman will contact surveyor. Correspondence:  Deupty Clerk Kimm Wojtalewicz resigns her position effective May 13th, 2026. Next Town of Hiles Board Meeting will be June 17th at 6:00PM.. Moved by Supervisor Mark Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Jeff Costigan to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
