Town Board Meeting — Minutes

April 21 Agenda Town of Hiles Board Meeting Tuesday April 21, 2026 Hiles Town Hall, Wood County Chairman Bargender called the meeting to order at 6:03pm. Present were: Chairman Rebecca Bargender, Supervisor Jeff Costigan, Supervisor Mark Gudel, Treasurer Soraya Krostag, and Clerk Cassandra Pio-Stoflet Other: The minutes of the Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 Hiles Town Board meeting were presented. Moved by Supervisor Mark Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Jeff Costigan to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried. The Treasurer’s report for March was presented. Moved by Supervisor Jeff Costigan and seconded by Supervisor Mark Gudel to approve as presented. Motion carried.  JJ’s Brush Cutting contract approved unanimously.  April 7th Election had emergency poll worker appointment of Sulayman Tester in place of Grace Tester o Approval for Sulayman Tester in post by Jeff Costigan and Mark Gudel.  Proposal to move portion of town funds to savings; currently all in checking and not accruing interest o Approved unanimously  Proposal/logistics of adding end of Ivy Dow to town property o Need to discuss with town lawyer  Fire Chief Jerry Minor is available as a speaker for August Towns meeting. o Suggestions for topic?  Clerk would like permission to secure catering for August Towns meeting – granted. Correspondence:  Chairman Bargender will attend Pittsville Fire Department picnic to represent Hiles  Board is invited to attend a construction information meeting regarding the intersection of HwyA/WI73 in Pittsville The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Jeff Costigan and seconded by Supervisor Mark Gudel to make all payments as presented. Motion carried. Next Town of Hiles Board Meeting will be May 13th at 6:00pm. Moved by Supervisor Mark Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Jeff Costigan to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
