Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:30 pm, and the Pledge of Allegiance
was recited.
Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King,
Supervisor Dennis Hintz, Supervisor LeRoy Pukrop, Clerk Angela Lochinger, and Treasurer Lori Kolodziej
were present. 0 town residents and/or visitors were present.
Approval of Minutes from the meeting of August 21 and September 11, 2024: Chairman King and
Supervisor Pukrop both provided corrections to the agenda item "Supervisor Comments/Concerns" in
the August 21, 2024 minutes.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the minutes of August 21, 2024, as presented with two
corrections discussed. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Supervisor Pukrop motioned to approve the minutes of September 11, 2024, as presented. Supervisor
Hintz seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: None
Supervisor Comments/Concerns: Supervisor Hintz discussed a propane contract offer he received from
Ferrellgas.
Price quotes for blacktop patching work: The board reviewed quotes from American Asphalt and B&B
Paving for blacktop patching in four areas where the town replaced culverts on North Reserve Drive and
Chippewa Trail, as well as in front of St. Mary’s on Dewey Drive. American Asphalt quoted $15,650, and
B&B Paving quoted $9,991. Chairman King will check if B&B Paving's quote includes removing the
blacktop and replacing the road base in front of the church.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to accept the price quote for blacktop patching work from B&B Paving for
$9,991. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Replacement of two entry doors on the town garage: Chairman King reported that two doors on the
town garage need replacing—one at the far end in front of the fire department and the other for the
shop.
Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve Chairman King to seek pricing for replacement doors. Supervisor
Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Items for 2024 Newsletter: The board discussed items to add to the town’s 2024 Newsletter.
Update on WI-CAMS ID Cards: Chairman King reported that the fire department has received their WI-
CAMS ID cards. The next step is to collect information and pictures from the town board members,
clerk, treasurer, and town employees to create their ID cards.
Direct Deposit for full-time employee payroll checks: Chairman King talked in favor of implementing
direct deposit for the town’s full-time employees.
Supervisor Pukrop motioned to approve the use of direct deposit for the town's full-time employee
payroll checks. Supervisor Hintz seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Update on proposed Town of Dewey Financial Administration Policy: Chairman King discussed updates
he made to the proposed Financial Administration Policy.
Compensation for training for Town Treasurer: Following discussion, Supervisor Hintz motioned to
postpone action on compensation for the town treasurer's training until further discussion with former
treasurer Josie Napiwocki. Supervisor Pukrop seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Clerk/Treasurer Reports for August: The board reviewed the Clerk and Treasurer reports for August,
noting that the reports balanced. Treasurer Kolodziej shared thank-you cards the fire department
received for a birthday celebration parade.
Supervisor Pukrop motioned to accept the Clerk and Treasurer reports as presented. Supervisor Hintz
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported that he is still investigating a
public access lot in the Bay View Drive subdivision, where private steps and a boat dock have been
added. He also noted that the dry hydrants near Tiki Beach Bar & Grill and on Birch Drive have been
repaired and are now operational. The town is considering DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) storage for the
new plow truck, with plans to purchase smaller quantities due to its shelf life.
Town employees completed grading, finished a turnaround at the end of Sandy Road, and addressed
water pooling on Torun Road by filling low areas. The culvert installation on Oriole Lane is still pending,
and Haas Sons Inc. is scheduled to begin the Torun Road Reconstruction project in early October.
The tractor had a broken window repaired, and a small radiator leak will be pressure-tested. The
Peterbilt had back brake repairs, along with some leaks, one of which is still being worked on.
Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.
Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, October
16, 2024; Wednesday, October 23, 2024 (to work on the Town Budget); and Wednesday, October 30,
2024 (to work on the Hazard Mitigation Plan), all at 6:30 p.m. at the Dewey Town Hall.
Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Pukrop motioned to approve and pay the bills as presented.
Supervisor Hintz seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 7:31 pm.
