Town Board Meeting — Minutes

MANITOWOC TOWN BOARD MEETING-October 14, 2024 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Manitowoc was held Monday October 14th, 2024 at the Silver Creek Fire Station and Town Hall. The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Chairman Blahnik. Pledge of Allegiance was said. Chairman Blahnik, asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the September meeting. Motion was made by Supervisor Thiel to approve the minutes and Supervisor DiMarco second it. Chairman Blahnik declared the minutes to stand approved as read. Bills were presented for payment; checks were signed and a motion was made by Supervisor Thiel and seconded by Supervisor DiMarco to allow bills to be paid. Motion carried Roll call of the Board members was documented. Chairman- Jeff Blahnik, Supervisor- Cody Thiel, Supervisor-Matt DiMarco, Constable-Andy Shavlik, and Clerk/Treasurer- Geraldine Gilbert. Residents from the town present were: • Steve Klinkner 4008 S 18th ST • Dennis Karbon 3319 Jenny RD • Cindi Karbon 3319 Jenny RD • Wayne Vetting 3819 S 15th ST • Mike Hansen 4015 S 18th • Kristen Schmidt 2934 S 10th ST • Trapper Dan 2917 S 19th ST • Shane Powalisz 3204 Nagle Ave • Joe Stanzel 8516 Hwy JJ Public input & Questions Garden debris is being dropped off in the ditch on S 15th ST. If the individual is caught, they will be fined. Striping for the completion of newly paved roads will be in the spring 2025 Old Business First responders and Fire Departments will receive an increase of 4%, while a motion was made by Supervisor Thiel and seconded by Supervisor DiMarco to allow the Fire Department increases. Motion carried. Ambulance service for the Town of Manitowoc will receive a $15.00 a person in the township. New Business Permits: Hanson, Aaron & Lindsey-2474 Silver Creek RD-Metal Storage Shed Noah Poklinkoski-1524 Pheasant DR-Garage Noah Poklinkoski-1524 Pheasant DR-Shed on property Noah Poklinkoski-1524 Pheasant DR-Sanitary Permit because of wetland Look into purchasing a generator for the building in the next couple of years. Add it to the budget. WISLR Ratings will be done in September-October by Supervisors Thiel and DiMarco. Supervisors Thiel will also work on a plan for road construction for the town. Constable presented his report for the past month: • September 14th Silver Creek RD to pick up bags in the ditch • Called to S 10th St for cars parking to close to the road, blocking drivers’ vision. Next Monthly Town meeting will be Monday November 11th, 2024 at 7:00pm. There being no other business to come before the board, a motion was made by Supervisor DiMarco to adjourn September 9th meeting, seconded by Supervisor Thiel. Motion carried.
