Town Board Meeting — Minutes

Short notice meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 Meeting was called to order by Chairman Blahnik at 4:00pm May 28, 2024. Roll call of the Board members was documented. Jeff Blahnik-Chairman, Cody Thiel- Supervisor, and Geraldine Gilbert-Clerk-Treasurer. Discussion of changes to Northeast Asphalt contract’s upcoming road work, by adding repairs to Silver Creek Rd. Approximately 220 sq yds using option #1 from their estimates they submitted, for total cost of $7700.00. Motion was made by Supervisor Thiel to approve the added road construction of Silver Creek Rd and Chairman Blahnik second it. Motion carried. Discussion of the road repairs needed on S 26th ST from the water main project. Part of the road will be repaired with funds from the city and then the town will be paying up to $20,000.00 for the rest of the road repairs. The cost is about $71.85 a sq. yd for Northeast Asphalt to do the work on S 26th. A motion was made to spend up to $20,000.00 for the needed repairs by Supervisor Thiel and second by Chairman Blahnik. Motion carried. A tree at 3202 Nagle Ave was brought to our attention because of safety factors. It’s located in the ROW area. The dead Ash Tree is leaning and with a strong wind it could land on one of the nearby buildings. Dan Wagner Tree Service was called to remove the tree. The cost is about $1500.00 for total clean up and removal. A safety hazard County Highway contacted Chairman Blahnik about sink holes on Woodlawn Dr. They stated the road was in bad condition for the ambulance to travel on it with a patient. The county will be fixing the road, and sending us the bill. Prospect for a supervisor and a clerk/treasurer was not filled at this time. Chairman Blahnik and Supervisor Thiel will be pursuing a candidate to fill the term of a supervisor. There being no other business to come before the board, a motion was made by Supervisor Thiel to adjourn May 28th meeting, seconded by Chairman Blahnik. Motion carried. May 28th, 2024, meeting was adjourned at 4:40pm.
