The minutes of the Board Meeting of the Town Board of Sanborn, Ashland County Wisconsin held April 5th, 2023. The meeting was called to order at 4:45 p.m. Those in attendance are Scott Bretting, Richard Mitchell, Dave Dacquisto, Ben Connors, Todd Kraft, Luis Salas and Jamie Weaver. Jamie discussed the movement and the process of the BCPL 20 yr loan of up to one million dollars to repay the taxes paid by Native American taxpayers since 2017 that covers years 2015-2021 with statutory interest. Luis read the resolution aloud exactly as given to the Town by the BCPL in its entirety, discussion follows. Jamie stated that the Town’s borrowing power is 5% of the Town’s valuation of the taxable property as equalized for State purposes and that the Town’s value was $23,409,800.00 which is $1,1740,490 of total monies that may be borrowed. Jamie further stated that the Town currently has a balance of $142015.25in principle debt verified by Northern State Bank on 4/5/23. It leaves the Town of Sanborn $1,028,474.75 left to borrow. Motion by Ben Connors Sr. to adopt the resolution exactly as given by the BCPL to borrow up to one million dollars. Jamie called for a vote. Luis Salas votes aye, Ben Connors Sr. vote’s aye and Todd Kraft vote’s aye. Motion passed with a 3 vote’s aye and 0 vote’s nay.
