CALL TO ORDER: At 6:30 p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
ROLL CALL: Chairman Spierings, Supervisor Trzebiatowski, Supervisor Lutz, Clerk Lea, Treasurer Rogers, Plan Commission Chair Brenna Olson, Brent Holderman, Robert Olsen and Jim Wehinger – Rural Insurance
APPROVAL OF MARCH 11,2026 MONTHLY MINUTES: M/S by Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve the March 11, 2026, minutes with changes. Make agenda items for next month to say Brush Pile instead of Brushing and add State Statues to Tree Brushing on Pavelski Rd. M/C. Ayes = 3
PUBLIC INPUT: 1.) None
GROUNDWATER REPORT: Groundwater representative, Gary Rzentkowski, was not present.
FIRE & SAFETY REPORT: 1.) No meeting was held due to snowstorm.
PLAN COMMISSION REPORT: No April meeting. 1.) Keeping an eye on residents who are in violation. 2.) There is a rumor about resident that is advertising camping on his property. 3.) Needs to investigate dog owner that had violations previously and then moved away. She is back living in the township.
TOWN OF AMHERST INSURANCE QUOTE – Jim W. from Rural: Rural Insurance was the only bid that came in for a quote. Horton chose not to bid. There was a discrepancy from the 2024-2025 audit and had to be added to the bid. M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to accept bid from Rural Insurance.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION OF NEW BUILDING INSPECTOR: General Engineering Company was recommended to the town from Town of Lanark. They will be invited to the next meeting to explain their services.
ROAD REPORT: ROAD SURVEY: Road limits will be taken off on Tuesday during the road survey. Survey will be done on Tuesday, April 14th, starting at 6:30 a.m.
REVIEW PRICES FOR 2026 SNOW REMOVAL & GRASS CUTTING FOR CONNECTING MUNICIPALITIES: After reviewing, Town of Buena Vista will stay at $375 and Town of New

Hope, Village of Amherst Junction and Village of Nelsonville will be raised to $400 for the 2026-2027 season.
SNOW & ICE STORM – EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: There is funds available for municipalities from Emergency Management if a minimum of $6,812.00 was spent on labor, trucks per hour, plows, etc. Chairman Spierings with the help of Treasurer, Paulette Rogers will fill out the forms and check out if it will work out for the town.
BRUSH PILE CONTRACT: M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve the 2026 Brush Pile Contract from the Village of Amherst.
2026 ROAD WORK: 1.) Estimates were given from American Asphalt for Lake and Pavelski Roads. The town needs to get estimates for asphalt on Bestul and Floistad Roads also. These four projects will cost the township a lot of money. These projects will be brought up to the residents of the Town of Amherst at the Annual Meeting.
TOWN HALL REPORT: 1.) The Spring election went well. 458 residents voted.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Town Balance is $383,202.88. New Garage/Road Repair Loan is $238,497.79.
PAYMENT OF BILLS: Reviewed.
BUDGET REPORT: Reviewed.
ZONING AND BULDING PERMITS: 1.) Joe Cisewski
