MINUTES – Planning Commission Meeting

A Plan Commission meeting was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Red Cedar
Town Hall, E6591 627th Avenue, Menomonie, WI.
1. ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER. At 6:03, the Chairman, Leon Herrick, called the meeting to order.
Present were members Tim Nelson, Greg Miller, Chad Haldemen, and Bob Cook. Also present was the
Secretary/Clerk, Cheryl Miller.
2. MINUTES. Motion by Chad Haldeman to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2026 meeting; motion
seconded by Greg Miller. None opposed. MC
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS. None.
4. BUSINESS to consider and act on, including possible recommendations to the Town Board:
(a) Recommendation to the Town Board on required amendments to the Town of Red Cedar Land and
Subdivision/Plat Ordinance. The required changes to the ordinance were reviewed. Motion by Greg
Miller to recommend that the Town Board approve the statutory amendments to the Town of Red
Cedar Land and Subdivision/Plat Ordinance; motion seconded by Chad Haldeman. None opposed.

(b) Review CSM related to land swap between neighbors at 680th Avenue and 690th Street in the NW ¼
of the NW ¼ and the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 11, T28N, R12W. No action taken.
(c) Updates to Town’s Comprehensive Plan, including adding information on solar and wind energy.
This item was postponed.
5. ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS. None.
6. COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS. There will be an open house at the Town of Dunn on
Monday, June 1st, from 6 to 8 p.m., regarding the county subdivision ordinance amendments.
7. UPCOMING AGENDA ITEMS. Possible recordings/webinars related to land use.
8. SET NEXT MEETING DATE: The next meeting was set for Tuesday, June 16, 2026 (tentative) at 6:00
p.m. The meeting will occur if there are agenda items.
9. ADJOURN. At 6:54 p.m., the Chairman, Leon Herrick, adjourned the meeting without objection.
